Kind of laughed out loud when I saw that. The blame lies TOTALLY on the PKers. No one is FORCING you to grief/gank any other player, that is YOUR choice. And it says a lot about your character, in my opinion anyway.

Its funny cause i have never "ganked" anyone and usually I am the anti "wanna be cool pker" pvper....
I never played uo so cant say anything about it.....My point is still valid in games where a level 70 can kill a level 10 its the system thats the problem. They can fix it buy not letting you attack someone 10 level difference or a billion other "rules" they can add. (not rules as you get in trouble ,but rules meaning you cant hit them)

I don't even want to think of the kind of coding that would be required to implement these rules (not to mention how limiting it would be to gameplay). Besides, isn't consentual Dueling/PvP servers and arenas/battlegrounds/ PvP and RvR zones enough? Seriously man you guys have a lot of options at your disposal, FFA PvP is not needed, let alone wanted (by the majority at least)

^ wth so according to you the pve content in the game should be the same for lvl 10 and lvl 70s too? if a lvl 10 can have a fair fight with a lvl 70  it need more or less the same attack power, health and armor. SO the lvl 10 could also do pve with these nice stats. You sure you want anyone to be able ot do the end game stuff? 1 week after they start playing?

The only game i ever played where the pk system was a good thing was eve, thats because its the only game where players that are really have no lcue dont get into the big stuff.

Utter nonsense. Pker's and griefers are found in every single multiplayer game under the sun.

There is no level system in Counterstrike but there are still PK'ers and griefers. There are no rewards or benefits from killing other players in Microsoft Flight at all, but there is still that guy on the runway ramming into all the other planes anyway.

It's not the game it's the people you play with.

This is a persistent problem in every multiplayer game and one which all games have attempted to address in some degree; either through player kick functions, ban functions, friendly fire options or gameplay devices such as honour, NPC guards, safe zones, spawn protection and countless others.

You get griefers, gankers and PKer's because wankers exist. Game designs have evolved to counter anti-social people but you can never completely remove them from society.

What you can do, is to make the penalties for behaving in this fashion so high, that they are either excluded from play entirely or are forced to adhere to basic levels of social conduct via game mechanics.

Allow people free reign to behave like jerks to other people, and many of them will. Such is human nature.

I said main reason(not only reason).....there isnt as much greifing in counterstrike as in say wow.....and there are NO gankers in counterstrike. I agree there are jerks everywhere but on a level playing field you can fight back, if your 10 and im 70 you cant.

If you include "rule" penalties in a game guess what you just made more griefers, you know how many griefers report people in wow, just to try and get people banned.

There are gankers in many FPS games. They are called spawn campers.

And Counterstrike has had immense problems with greifers over it's life time. No end of additions ot the code have been added to kick, ban, auto-kick, IP ban and even CDkey ban players have been included since it's release, along with friendly fire otpions, server admins, remotely accessable server admins, junior admins, passworded servers and even player rankings and statistics. Utilities that detect players who change their name etc etc.

Counterstrike has had perhaps the poorest reputation of all online multiplayer games.

I am not looking for a game in which I can fight back with wankers. I am looking for a game in which they are not present.

There are enough wankers in my daily life already without me wanting to meet any in my relaxation time.

WoW is not a game reknowned for it's griefers. Having GM's/server admins online available to adjudicate is one of the many ways in which multiplayer games address the issue of griefing. In games without online admins, many of them use a votekick system, but an active admin is always preferable.

For coding now im not a coder but um wouldnt " if level player A > player B +10 = 0 damage" work? You telling me that the people that make a 50 million dollar game cant add a pvp restriction?

I dont really like arenas battlegrounds or rvr.....I want the world to be a war and no pve at all.(like 10six )

I dont go into lotro and say there must be pvp, if theres open pvp in the game and they dont want ganking. They should add a restriction.

Honestly i could care less if people gank carebears all day, I just stated the obvious problem of high levels camping noobs.

Your right, I dont play games with respawns.......so i forgot about that....

WoW is well known for griefing, I would say infamous for it

So many children saying reported in general chat it became a joke.

Stranglethorn was also well known for ganking, what about the poison cloud bank thing, what about climbing on the buildings and killing people, what about the time bomb hearth trick.

Gm's are worthless.

The vote kick is also used to grief people, I have been kicked many times for "winning" in fps.

That's why we pay for active server admins.

So that you don't just get vote kicked.

I assume you are not old enough to remember the days pre-vote kick, when if a greifer targeted your server and no admin was online, the server was effectively ruined for as long as said griefer still found it funny.

You might want to recognise that there is a very large difference between a child saying "reported" in general chat, and you getting your account cancelled.

WoW isn't reknowned for griefing and ganking. Quite the opposite. If that's the best example of a game full of griefers and gankers you can come up with, then all is well in the world.

I have yet to experience any of your complaints about WoW. Not a one. When you do, contact a GM. It's what we pay them for.

I have to agree completely with Gameloading on this one even though some of the most fun times I had in UO was hunting the reds.   That is not how most players react to pking.

To reinforce what Gameloading said, just look at the pvp servers in Wow, most of them are the lowest population servers.

All I can say to you is to hope that Darkfall emerges from vaporware status, it seems to be the game you are looking for.

Google "MMORPGMaker" if you want to make your own MMORPG.

HAHAHAAHAHAAAaAAaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The delusion is strong in this one.

Go ask Blizzard how much not having pk has hurt them.

Pretty much sums it up.

There can be no more "PK" games. Because now, everyone must consent to playing such a game, so the game will be all PK's, but PK's don't like that because they have no innocent victims to annoy.

Those that want to PvE and not be annoyed by "PK"s go play WoW or LOTRO or Vanguard or something else.

End of story.
