Edit: Although if that's what EA is estimating then I'll be saddened. Should probably not get my hopes raised up until we see an actual announcement. |

yea it's the confirmed ones because it's on a EA site so warhammer is coming out in september 23 then open beta this august :D quote "I need get my sound card double time"!!!!! |

Nothing at all is confirmed until Mythic says it is. They are actually pulling the strings for the game at this stage - EA has in large been hands off. I wouldn't trust any date unless it came straight from the mouth of Mythic, in an official "Release Date" announcement. Not to mention, we still have these things to finish: 1) Guild Beta, which just started less than two weeks ago (?). 2) Open Beta, which better be longer than two weeks, or Mythic will get mobbed by the angry horde of CE buyers. 3) Headstart, which *should* last a minimum of 4-5 days (not everyone can start the instant the servers are up). 4) One to two days ramp-up time while they get the full set of servers ready (possibly time before Headstart for this). They have exactly 60 days left to pull that all off if they want to make this phantom date happen. Yes they can do it, but it will be serious crunch time, and I'm guessing Open Beta would suffer for it if they tried (i.e. it'd be a lot less than 4 weeks). That would be unfortunate, because I think launch will be bigger than they plan on, and servers will get slammed - they will need to be load tested heavily, and open beta is when you do that. It goes without saying I want the game to launch just like everyone else, but I certainly don't want to rush it out the door and have it hurt in the process, just to beat some add-on in another game. |

ok i am at comic con in sad diego and talking with Josh (yeah you know him) and asking him the release date he still says "Fall"..... but i don't know i will ask him tomorrow or paul on saturday (you guys don't know how excited i am) and so far i have not been able to play that much due to everything going on and other booths and such but i can only say one thing
All the naysayers wont have much to wine about launch time ...i played some open RvR today running around with a chosen (some guy standing next to me) and we were killing drawfs left and right (i was playing a dark elf sorceress)
the spell efects are top notch, i went speechless when i saw a giant purple rock fall from the sky and purple choas spikes shot up from the ground killing an annoying bright wizard. The combat is very fast and if you are not paying attention you will get jumped only reason it looks slow in some videos is because it takes time to kill someone/something. but casting time and auto attacking is only a tad slower then "the game which shall not be named" (as taken from another WAR fan) the action point system is very cool and allows for the fast casting and great combat. and is really great and is a step in the right direction.
The dark elf darkmagic build up (forget what it is called) is noticable but takes a while to build up but at the higher levels it is great for damage but have to make sure you have a healer on you....for those "God damn it " moments of choatic backup blasting in your face. Tomorrow i plan on trying to play some more order classes (i played some shadow warrior for a few quests but wasnt long enough to tell anyone about). one more thing PQs are really really cool...i was playing a chosen and running around and saw these choas mages (they were not on disks so...don't know what to call them.) and the first part of one was fun it was killing 25 empire troops...which was easy solo..but the second part of it was collecting souls but they were guarded by elites (or what ever they were called)
anyway that ends my rant but i will ask the devs tomorrow about it..
they say the open beta will Start "really soon" so hopefully in august and hopefully early...
But last and not least i want WAR and the content i was was very polished and very smooth from everything from the envrionment to the combat. |

SC2 compete with WAR? rofl.. i don't know about a single mmo gamer that play RTS games, but people got different taste for sure.. but if we gonna compare gengres all the time, than why dont just say how small the mmo gengre is compared to FPS games? |
