To me, it doesn't matter if I know how the development process works. All I know is that alot of work goes into it. Now, as a (now former) paying customer, I just need to know this: * Are the listed, hyped about features in-game? Why not? WHEN are they coming out? * I know there will be bugs. That's a given for any MMO, especially new ones. But the main thing is this... how quickly are the devs resolving issues, especially major ones? How are fixes to broken abilities and classes going along? * If you're going to Nerf, then fix things instead of only crippling classes. There's more for me, but these are the core ones, esp. when it came down to AoC. Since the answers to the above points were all in a negative direction, I felt no heartache when I hit the Cancel button. "I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." Funcon Dev's are probubly laughting there heads off all the way to the bank. They dont care, with all the sells this game had It made profit I bet.
Mmorpg's cost lots of money to make. they ran out of it..... They dont care about what you think. To them your a bunch of dummies that bought there game with faith it was any good. And they wish it was but they ran out of money and had to pay back a hole lot they had borrowed , "Oh BTW this game Suck but still buy it We need to pay off a hole lot of cash."
I did not buy this game, and I wont buy WAR right at launch. If you do and are disapointed then you only have your own stupidity to blame.

Information, as in password, account I.D. etc..Not a well written critique that just happens to have, "I cancelled", at the end of it. If I'm wrong, then post a link to the eula that clearly states it. If it's in general terms then anything could be considered "account information". I have a Ranger. I just told you about my account. See how that works buddy? P.S. and this is your first post here, go figure. |

And this is why AOC forums are screwed. They need to train the morons they have working on the boards. This guy is an idiot. Just think for a moment and you can see how if he really does believe what he says the forums are just going to remain a laughing stock. He believes saying you cancelled your account is against the EULA because your not allowed to talk about your account. Your not allowed to say your leaving because your talking about your account. if I say I subbed for a year and love he game then he would ban me because I am talking about my account. If I helped a guy with account problems and told him how I fixed mine he would ban me for talking about my account AND the guy asking for help, because its talking about his account. If this guy honestly believes that talking about your account is wrong, then he should be named shamed and kicked from the mod team. |

If I post that I have a bug isnt that talking about my account? |

Social Guidelines
There are the rules for posting that everyone agrees to by posting on the forums. In the rules it states Posting of any account details (especially "I've Cancelled") is prohibited. Do not get mad at the moderators when they are following the rules that Funcom has in place. (And has had in place since I think 2005 well before Age of Conan) These are Funcom's rules for posting. It isn't much different from other boards I have been to. I don't know of a single company that allows posters to make posts about how they are leaving the game. Currently playing: Looking Foward too: |

I personally made a "i quit for now" on wow forum, stating that i would be taking a break until WOTLK and it is still there after 2 months. Not only that but even got a humorist answer from the Community manager " it is always good to take some vacancies. See you maybe in 5 to 7 months " ( what means WOTLK would be coming around november or so). Even on the "evil" SOE forums this post are not unsual and allowed unless they present a clear provocation or insult.

I have to agree with the OP. Funcom now has an agenda of silencing negative criticism for their game regardless of the facts. I left the game myself, not because of the forum nazis, but because of the many overall flaws with the game and because of Funcom's lies to the public. It's just not fun to ride on that bus any longer. Barfman - The superhero people are reluctant to call upon. |

For the record community Managers : Famine and Tarib don't even dare answer to PM.
Check my other posts and you'll see how a stupid moderation can lead an honest and polite player to... well have a look by yourself.

Well then, I tell you which single company that allows (or most of the time: simply don't give a damn) you (at least me) to post 'I quit' threads: that's Blizzard. I have made one when Priest was nerfed~ I posted in the main thread w/ a screenshot of my cancellation -- and nothing happens to me or my account. I actually resubscribed when they softened the nerf. If AoC is so good, you don't need moderator to close threads -- your own players will shoot down people who quits. Have you been to WoW forums ? People are making quit posts on hourly basis, and here's how the conversation normally goes: Quitter: "I quit. Blizzard sux." Funcom, you're having a problem, and people just voice their concern -- instead, you're trying even harder to fail by opting to shoot the messenger rather than addressing the real issue. Do a proper damage control: admit there are issues w/ the game and you're working hard to fix them. Your customers are not your enemy~ congrats Funcom: you've unlocked the achievement "Burning the Bridge". |

The rules against the I'm cancelling bs means that funcom knew they had a piece of crap, and wanted to sell it anyway. Thats what that says to me. |
