So now we have a former Apollo astronaut coming out and saying that yes, the earth has been visited by aliens.  I'm just wondering what its going to take for people to start taking this seriously.

People don`t want to take it seriously because it represents change. Imagine the chaos it would create if  people were shown the real truth.

From the interview it`s obvious that these beings are very advanced and could wipe us out at any moment.

Oh...I thought this was about the new x-files movie.   No I do not believe that ET's that have visited here.  If they had they would have recognized that our species would be to dangerous to allow to get off this rock and they would have wiped us out.

There is about as much prove as there are prove of ghosts, maybe even less so. Sure, these aliens could have visited...doesn't mean they would automatically destroy us or not destroy us.

I myself do believe in aliens, the universe is huge and really old...millions of planets and Earth is only one with life? Don't believe that. Do I believe aliens come here and abduct people? Nope, don't believe that either.

But aliens could have explored Earth for whatever reason...haven't people found ancient cave paintings of spaceships or alien-like paintings/art? Thought I remember reading something about that. If that is true and I remember right...how would an ancient civilization who had no planes or any flight and not even any cars know about these spaceships/aliens? Then again, I could be remembering wrong...but I do sorta remember reading somewhere about it.

There is an alarming amount of people who do not believe dinosaurs walked the Earth.

So, no, a lot of people don't want to believe, even when there's quantifiable evidence.

Why the fuck does everyone assume that Aliens are far more technologically advanced than us? Because they have big heads and little frames?

And how can an astronaut asses that a foreign species who has visited us a couple of times, have the capability to wipe us out?

Eh, I personally believe plenty of ET's have visited us, for what reasons? No one can say, movies like to stress they're plotting to destroy humanity and such.

What if they're actually protecting us from unknown dangers of the universe? Perhaps forces our technology can't detect, watching us to make sure we're alright. Heck maybe they're on a patrol route that passes through earth or something :P

I personally believe if their are ET's traveling the universe, they've probably come across many other species, and have developed certain guidelines I guess as far as interacting with new species, or maybe they just don't think we're worth coming into contact with, kind of like watching animals in a park or a zoo. Maybe they think we're to dangerous or hostile to try and make contact, who knows.

I believe this mr. astronaut, im assuming he talks with important government peeps who would know stuff about this.

Err because a species that can realistically transvers the galaxy to reach us [several times allegidly] will be a LOT more technically advanced than someone who can barly get a few people to attend a 3 day trip to the moon.

Also they will have space superioraty when it comes to attacking us becuase they can just launch projectiles from deep space at any target on Earth and there is nothing we can do to stop them, because once again we can barely leave Earth's atmosphere.

lol whoever already doesn't believe in the ufo phenomena is extremely nieve.  Theres more documentation for the phenomena than the holocaust
