i was doin some research on this game and i came across a website that said this game was to be released on october 30, 2008 im just wonderin if this is true?

plz, gimme the link to the website.  If they can hit up OB in korea (maybe simultaneous OB for here and there), OB here, and get enough polish on the game in 3 months, then yes i think it will be out on oct 30.  I doubt that will happen tho.  Maybe in leipzig, NCSoft will reveal that the game is nearly finished and ready for the USA market and they have been working on translation all this time without us knowing!  Im guessing by early next year it will be out.  Kind of a long way away, but im looking forward to the game.

Korean OB should be "soonish" and as for NA/UE, Closed beta should start some time this summer with and early 2009 release.

that date was most likely from a website such as Amazon or Gamespot, or any other company that sells games(I am not saying that it is, just most likely) and the Deveopers hava said not to trust these websites, as they want to rake in money from pre orders. Wait for an official release date and see, I would love it to be that date though :)

Please look through all the threads before you make a new one, there was a thread about this already  october 30th was posted as the release date by Amazon.  That was a fake release date since even Korean version of AION does not officialy have a realese date. Yes Close beta phase 3 was started, but there is no date for Korean OB yet, because there might be CB phase 4 please check the official website at http://www.aiononline.com/us/.

Amazon has a release date of October for their pre-order games. So I am thinking sometime around that time frame unless there are some major issues during or after the Korean launch.

like I said, don;t trust Amazon or any other site like that, NCsoft have said that themselves. The dates were questimated to try and generate revenues through ore-orders, The release date is estimated by Dev's to be late this year early next year.

Closed beta should start in around a month in NA/EU with release sometime in early 09.

Apparently  you don't read what others post here, well you can go ahead and order it from Amazon and be ripped off by them since NCsoft never annouced a release date. You should go and find some solid info on official website instead of some fake ones.

How am I going to get ripped off if they don't charge me a dime until the product ships? In fact it would be against the law to charge my credit card until they actually have the product and ship it else it would be known as credit card fraud. I also don't have to put a deposit down unlike brick and mortar stores.

If you want to verify a release date, the best place to do so is on the official websites such as http://www.aiononline.com/us/ or http://eu.aiononline.com/en/.

Having said that, the US/EU release date has not been announced other than 'at some point in time in 2009'.

pulling it out of my backside but im guesstimating Jan 20th - Feb 14th release

But you never know I have read before that translation is coming along realy well and TBH once the core mechanic's and polish is sorted translation shouldnt be too lengthy a process.

There is no grind. Posting without having  a clue makes you look silly.

Even if the world is big and people might spread alot in some areas there is flying...

FFXI had more then 500k if not alot more at some point but sure its an old game now so 100k might be real.

Lineage 2 I dont know the numbers but the game was decent and got ruined by bots not by itself.. and all that botting happened because the source code was leaked before release and spread around the net making easier for lots of peeps to make tons of bots and private servers.

Even though I saw you love WoW and I saw your bad troll attempts on WAR also.

WAR or Aion might not match WoWs numbers but togheter they will put one hell of a competition.

Go research and try troll some other game.

First off I'm surprised that it's possible to watch such a lengthy video on a game from a large developer/publisher such as NCSoft before the game goes into CB in NA. I didn't see anything exceptional except for the animation but what I really liked was the environmental design and soundtrack. The soundtrack, especially the piano movement towards the end of the clip was great. I'm sure though after a few hundred hours it'll get stale, but it can't hurt.

It looks to be almost finished, and yeah the grind does worry me some like a poster said previously. Not so much the grind itself but the bland world design and general desolate atmosphere that comes with it.

Well, guess what. You can fly in that atmosphere.
