I agree. The forums here are just soooo harsh. i mean, I'm like the biggest pussycat here, never flame or criticize, am always respectful no matter what gets thrown at me. And yet, I just keep getting attacked left and right by these aggressive forum pvpers.

I try to sing "Kumbaya" and get hit with "Hit the road, Jack".

Goozex.com Try it, you'll like it.

Don't have sigs with a cheerleaders butt swinging in it, or the prudes in the Age of Conan forum section of mmorpg.com will demand the mods have it removed.

Behold! Rash of the Itch King comes in November! Quake in fear!

Well no offense OP but every thread I can remember that you've started has said something negative about AoC or WAR. Now, it's fine if you want to be the pessimist, but if you wanted to do so and you expected to be treated with respect and not be called a troll...you need to take a deep breath and come to the real world. Sorry, but cultures change and society changes. I guess what happens here is commonplace, but honestly, I think it could be much much worse. Despite all the morons who spam "troll" and "fanboi" I still see points, counter-points, and good arguments being made.

If you're sensitive, then yeah, just take a break I suppose. But don't let the name calling get to you. Anyone who uses that as their only defense is weak. If you can't say something smart don't say it at all.

I only play a MMO for a few months (1, 2.. ) so wellcome to my world.  I often never play to the high level, and change to other game, somethimes a singleplayer game, or something else.

But mmos has something: people, that is something you miss in singleplayer games or reading books.

I think that's the first time I've read a "I'm quitting" forum post directed at quitting a forum within an MMORPG site.

With that said, can I have your stuff?

We must be thinking of two entirely different sites then.  :)

Yes..it would be quite pointles if someone like you would post "I am quiting" ...

But when outstanding community member like Elkial says he is quitting. Somebody who wrote more constructive posts text, than some of gamers here read in their whole life (including school material)

Than it is a sad day , and a loss for community as whole ...

Google "MMORPGMaker" if you want to make your own MMORPG.

Pretty much :\

I love the idea of MMORPG's, but after all these years I've yet to find a game which I love.

You can love a pet, you can love a person, you can love your country, or God himself.

But games are not objects of love.  Games are to be played, to be enjoyed for the fun that they offer, and then discarded in favor of the next one.

But back on topic.  Perhaps that's why these forums get so angry and mean sometimes. Because people do associate too much passion with games, and make it all too personal.

"It''s OK... I''m a leaf on the wind! Watch how I soar!"

Greetings Elikal and all,

I know the forums can get a bit... yeah... We're working on that though. I know I just came on board, but I already have several ideas on community building and forum improvement. Will they work? Maybe, maybe not. Hopefully. First of all in the near future I'll be greatly increasing the moderator pool. Beyond that, it's a surprise. :)

One thing though I've definitely noticed in my time back. A lot of the forum reform is going to have to start with you guys. Use the Report Post tool, which a LOT of you do, if you see someone flaming, trolling, just being a general asshat, etc.

Now, granted, a lot of you do report those posts, and that's great... The problem comes when after you report them for some reason you feel the need to reply to them with something like "HAHAHA!!! I just reported your dumbass troll bastard self!!!" At which point you've sunk to their level, they'll report your post as well, and you'll receive a warning/bad just like the other.

Best policy, don't feed the trolls, report the post and move on.

If you have any questions or concerns about the forums, please don't hesitate to send em my way at community@mmorpg.com.
