Hey there,

So basically I just had my main account that I had for 3 years "perma-banned' without a warning, without previous suspensions/bans due to "WoW Economy Exploitation". I have never bought gold, sold gold, bugged a mob/instance purposly or jibbed another player.

I am also the GM and MT of a Raiding Guild (I do not want to disclose which and where) so this news is pretty devestating. I called blizzard customer service/technical support yesterday and they basically told me that there is nothing the can do over the phone and nobody I can talk to as "Account Administration deals 100% over e-mail only". I did send an e-mail immediatly following the e-mail I received with my suspension and it has been about 48 hours without response so far.

Basically I am royally screwed here by Blizzard and I would like to know if anyone here has had this particular thing happen to them and how they dealt with it. Also what should I do? I realize that I could just start another account and try to "Power lvl" but at the same time this is an original account with alot of time invested and alot would be lost regardless.

Here is my only guess, over the past 2 weeks roughly I made about 7k-8k Gold due to farming dailies on 2 characters and then sending gold from that one alt to my main (on the same account). I farmed heroics like crazy as a tank as its easy and I can sell LPs/Nethers/Epic Gems etc as well. All this farming has been done to get me my epic mount asap which I've always neglected. I see nothing "illegal" in my actions however, and I'm disappointed in this entire affair.

Well, I partly wanted to vent but also would like to know if there is something I can do that I havn't thought of that you guys might know. Like I said, I did send an e-mail and I'm still waiting for response. I can definatly update the thread once I get a response if anyone cares.

Thanks

damn man... I was thinking of doing almost the same thing since my main is lacking a flying epic skill... but after this, I'm scared to go through with it lol

But wow, that is something rather shocking, I've never heard of that happening before, so i hope everything turns out good in the end man

"sending gold from that one alt to my main"

If they notice too much money sent via mailsystem they suspect it's bought gold. I wonder if they have some kind of automated ban system if you just reveice too much gold in mail :S

I'd like to hear how this turns out. good luck!

Some of my guild and I discussed this as being pretty much the only possibility. I have never sent more than 200g-300g at a time. Overall, through a couple of weeks it was probably 2k or so but yea thats the only thing I can think of as well.

I will definatly post here then the outcome of this. Thanks for the interest at least :p

aye its probably because of so much gold being sent. they do look for that and assume its gold thats been sold for real money. on the other hand blizz is full of stupid rejects if they banned you for this since the gold went to a character on the same account right? so id have to say WTF? they think you sold yourself gold then sent it to yourself? id bring that up to em an make sure they feel stupid for banning you  lol

ah well.. soooo glad im done with that game.. good luck to you man.

I do the same thing but I send it as soon as my auctions have ended. So like 80 gold the max. But I also only do it about once a week and not everyday. If you explain your situation to Blizzard you may get some type of resolvement. I know I had read some where before that Blizzard has alarm systems set in place to look for things like this. You probabally just got aught up in them.

I don't think that Blizzard would ban anyone for farming dailies or sending money to characters within same account. And making 7-8k gold in few weeks sholdn't result in bans either, some players have reached the gold limit (over 200k gold) without getting banned.

But gl on getting yourself unbanned if you really haven't done anything wrong.

I have seen the "Economy Exploitation" ban before and it's always been AH farming, usually buying and relisting in MASS quantities.

I dont need to
"get a life".
Im a gamer, I have
LOTS of LIVES!

If you truly have done nothing wrong like you say, then sit tight and let Blizzard sort it out.  They will figure out it was a mistake and unban the account.  Sorry you have to wait, but it takes a bit of time to get all the data together to find out what's really happening.  Like those above have said if all you have done is send gold from 1 toon to another on the same account, no matter how much it was you should have your account unbanned shortly.
