Hello. I just wanted to warn you of a serious issue with this game before some of you decide to drop the $50 and buy it. There is no customer service whatsoever. If you get locked out of your account you will not get a response back from someone on the corporate side. I tried to cancel my 2 accounts and I lost the password for one of them. The "lost password" option is not sending me the password so I thought I would drop a customer service ticket and take care of it the next day. That was 2 weeks ago. I have called them 2 times and emailed them about 10 times. Not one peep back from them. Meanwhile my monthly fee just rolled over. All because of their lack of service. They don't have ANY phone support. If you call their headquarters it is a message saying they don't have phone support. I can't imagine this game working out when they are already involved with extremely shady business practices. I just finished filing a report with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and I can't wait to get a response from the company. By the way, if you think that I am a hater that is over exagerrating, the BBB has had 75 complaints about Funcom in the last 3 months. None of them have been resolved. That is unprecedented in terms of video game companies. Go look for yourself. I just thought that I would warn any people on the fence about this game so that you can avoid the several hours of hassle that I have experienced in the last two weeks. I would post this on the official forums but I can't get my password :) Take care everyone and good luck in your decision about pursuing this game. |

I am really sorry you have had issues. But the part where you say "the BBB has had 75 complaints about Funcom in the last 3 months" is just not true. If you look at the BBB site for FC. http://easternnc.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=66&bbb=0593&firm=3001204 it says "The BBB processed a total of 72 complaints about this company in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period. Of the total of 72 complaints closed in 36 months, 63 were closed in the last year." The part about being unprecedented is untrue if you look at other companies - trust me.
So this is the category you fall under. As of todays date. If you want the community managers email I can give you that? if your an adult im sure your aware a simple phone call to your card company would stop transactions. |

I only read the first half of your wall of text but call your credit card company or bank. They can probably even take care of the recent charge. |

Funcom has 25 employees lol. It is unprecedented for a little tiny company to have so many complaints about the same thing: customer service. They are terrible and too cheap to pay someone 20k/yr to answer phones. I think it is unbelievable that they chose to shed tens of thousands of accounts based on their terrible customer service instead of paying a couple guys some pocket change to answer phones. |

The thing is, he shouldn't have to go through the trouble of calling his cc company because of FC's incompetence. Just like people shouldn't have to rely on other players game fixes in the tech forums. It's not their job, it's Funcoms. |

Could even log into the game and petition as a back up. How many mmo companies offer phone support? Bliz yep, who else? No everyone is the answer, but some do. FC HQ is in Oslo not NC. |

They are well aware of the fact that the lost password option doesn't send the info. Why? Becuase it was broken before AoC even went live (aka its been a standing issue with people who decided to come back to AO). In general they were very speed about answering account emails.. perhaps with all the people needing help with AoC they are overwhelmed. While its true that the poster can have their CC company decline or reverse the charges. It in general will result in the account being perma banned. Which is why its something that should have been taken care of by Funcom. Of course if you are sure you don't ever want to play that account again.. I suppose its not much of a price to pay to get your money back. Rather than wait around for them to fix the issue... |
