And EA having a new CEO doesn't mean shit. If you honestly think that there aren't EA guys looking over Mythic's shoulders then you're living in a dream world. EA is a horrible company and they deserve all of the flak they get. I should know, I worked there.
Nobody said EA wasn't watching them, but you're just trying to inflate your "I Know All" ego if you think Mythic isn't running the show. And actually, EA having a new CEO does mean a lot more than you think. I can guarantee EA knew about the content cuts, I'm not going to deny that. All I'm saying is Mythic is in charge of WAR development, EA is just watching them to make sure they get more money out of it than putting into it. |

EA MMO development teams have tons less of EA corporate maangement hovering over them. Most of the oversight is just accounting. |

Wow thank you for that link. I wish they would put that guy in charge of public relations. Mark Jacobs drives me nuts the way he talks, but I could really relate to that guy. |

Normally a lurker, but sorry had to respond to this. The person paying the bills is the person in charge. End of story. If EA says jump, then Mythic will jump. That's just a fact of life. The person with the money wins. Lets just hope that EA listens to Mythic and accepts their suggestions and desires. But when push comes to shove, the person paying the paycheck is the person who is in charge and to think that is not the case is foolish.

Games Workshop does and if EA was to force Mythics hand into something GW didn't like GW can go "F you" and terminate the liscence agreement. EA won't force something on Mythic that GW won't approve if they know whats good for their bank accounts. |

I doubt the license is so one sided that games workshop can yank the license for any reason they want and leave Mythic/EA out millions upon millions of dollars they have invested in making the game.

I am fairly certain all three groups are wililng to cooperate since it would likely make a legal mess if EA tried to do something GW didn't like or if GW pulled the plug, or if Mythic did something... etc... None of the companies want there to be a problem, so I believe that EA is willing to cede to GW's wishes. Not like EA is really ACHING for money... Play nice to avoid the courts... it costs much less than just extending the development a few months. |
