I have noticed a lot of people are hating this game or not really reading about it.   Since there is not really any gameplay videos or really a lot of screen shots.   I really think if people gave this game a chance got on the ER forums, read about it more, learned about the company and talked about it more.    People will really losen up about being skeptical about this game.

But this is open for discussion.   Why are you not interested in ER?

P.S.  This game is going to be 2000x better than FE (Fallen Earth)

I can agree with everything but the comment about Fallen Earth just because they will have differing audiences who want different things. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of ER myself.

Looking Forward to:

I am following this game closely..

But I don't have my hope's high up. It has nothing to do with the game itself. All those "failed" launches and empty promises made me do it;)

"In EVE, no one gives a damn about a fair fight." - chafin

Because there are too many parallels between this game and Darkfall.

I'm not bothering to follow any game until its very close to release.

So Earthrise isn't alone, I'm paying little attention to most of the software being developed out there, regardless who's making it.

I've actually read all the information on their site, and while it's certainly interesting, until the goods are delivered I can't help but be skeptical about any developer (especially one making their first game) fulfilling the concepts and ideas they're promising, and presenting a finished product worthy of my money. I think the same goes for a lot of players who have been burned by a game in the past or have watched the scams and failures from both the past and present.

I can't get excited about any games anymore, not until the finished product is there before me on the screen.. I am thinking that it may take some new company, one not boxed in by investors looking to make it rich, one willing to take some chances just because they themselves love games, to come out with something worth getting excited about.

Gods and Heroes.  wow.  Sounded good.  Beta was dull.  Game dropped and ashes blown away.

Age of Conan.  Struggling.  Not at all what so many of us yearned for.

The list does go on.   SO, i read these sites with guarded curiosity.

Of course we are sceptical to everything! Its human nature. Regardqrless if its about geen ketchup (instead of red) or something simple as Wath of the Lich King.

We could almost begin to post when we are not sceptical about something, since that is a alot more rare thing.

So: Im not sceptical about Earthrise. Its a new small developer that annouinced its game three years to early. If its cancelled......shit happens, no worrys.

Very good answers.  Would it make people less skeptical if there was a gameplay video(actually gameplay not that crappy CG)?  Also I really like newer smaller companies than bigger oldier companies.  Yes oldier companies have experience and all that behind them but they really do not have original ideas.  They normally make games that there is nothing really new about it.    What you guys think?

I don't think a video would have helped with Age of Conan.  The problems run deeper than anything that a video can reveal.  I did enjoy the game until i reached max level and hit a brick wall.  Nothing enjoyable to do.  Too many bugs with the raids.  Lack of PVP content, etc.

I do think smaller companies might bring hope.  IF they start without the expectation of becoming commercial in the sense of WOW, if they are happy with making an awesome game that doesnt draw in millions of dollars, but has a loyal, smaller following.

I have been playing PC games for many years and it depresses me to see what has happened.  Good games are few and far between, thanks to companies developing for the console market.  In the past, I couldn't finish one game before another one that I just had to have, was hitting the shelves.  But if some smaller company did want to develop for the PC (and I am not talking MMOs) then it seems to me there would be less competition for them.
