This is turn based tactical MMORPG (like traditional console rpg's). It is loosly based on locations in the real world and has some really good guild features. Towns can be captured and owned and the guild must ensure that the population remains healthy through a form of micro management.

The party system is fun as hell, crafting is interesting and is a must for the economy to thrive. Pvp is also very very fun and once the game gets rolling, a group of guilds can join to form a nation to wage war and dominate the known world, one country at a time.. Try it out.. This game is fun..

so i looked it up, its a korean game.

if you swear to GOD that its not like all the other grindy games from korea ill play. A turn base grind fest would be hell.

also, as im looking at the websites character info, im curious if its sex locked classes.  Nothing i hate more than being forced to play as a female when playing my choice mmo class of mage....i really hate that.

Expect to see a lot more viral advertising on these boards about Atlantica.  Here is the headline article on the startup application:

So all the hours you put in to level up and amass all sorts of goodies during the closed beta won't have gone to waste. No need to restart your journey toward Atlantis.

I promise you this is like nothing that you've played before. There are no sex locked classes for YOUR character.. I feel your pain on that, lol.. You basically pick a weapon and learn the skills for that weapon.. Mercs are sex locked though...

yeah it does seem like a shameless advertisement. i seriously doubt that if the OP wasnt getting something in return for marketing for the game that he would not be posting his advertisement.

i will however give the game a try, although you will not see me here dropping shameless advertisements.

*edit* i just read that pop up you were talking about, very very lame, forcing the community to hock their game and the reward is we keep out close beta characters...very very gay. this also speaks volumes about the company distributing the game, i can only assume that they will try this "do our marketing for us or we will punish you" type thing

I'm really curious how Grouping works in this game.  Not the hiring mercenaries bit, but teaming up with other player-controlled characters.

Yeah, the mass wipe threat sounds pretty vile.  Anyone who would so openly jerk around their own player-base is not the sort of company I would willingly give my money to.  Even playing the game right now is up in the air.  I generally tend to only judge a game on it's own marrets, and occasionally it's community, but DAMN.

i think it will just make you wait for your team members groups to go, like everyone takes a turn kind of thing.  if this is true i expect long an drawn out battle....this might be a solo mmo' as i dont see how that could be fun....typical korean grinder parties are fast paced and kinda fun.

like i said before though, if this game is grindy, the turned based aspect will make it hell, and boring with auto fight.

open beta hasent started yet, ill give it a try when it opens, but untill then, i expect nothing from this game =p

and i would like to request that w/e company is distributing the game, to stop being cheap asses and throw down for some legit advertisements, mabey even pay to get their game posted here. i take this cheapo approach to launching open beta as a very bad sign.

Yep.. of course this had to turn into a negative thing.. I was only trying to get the word out, yes, to help the population of the game AND try and save everyones work.. But of course that must mean that i'm a (insert any descriptive word here) and this thread is unworthy of your attention.. And now here comes the fun part where we make this go multiple pages with flame after flame because of this.. lol..

I posted it for the so -called "covert" reason that you have now discovered.. yes .. I am THAT guy.. Not that I care what mr. anonymous thinks, BUT I did it.. Either play it or not, lets not turn this into the silly flame wars that are common to mmorpg.com...

hmm. i said i would try it, sorry for not going into fanboi mode over a game i really know nothing about. I just dont get my hopes up over f2p asian grinders, its nothing personal against this game.

like i said before, ill try it when ob come online and untill then i expect it to be terrible, since thats how i feel about all asian grinders with a supa mall cash shop.

It is a bit grindy but it's fun in its own way. I don't like it because as you said, it reminded me too much of the grindfests of the past. I might give it another go if nothing else catches my eye. But I find myself enjoying combat arms more for some odd reason.
