wow, 7-10 days? Thats just enough from what Ive read to hit 80 and learn how barren the game is.

But that only applies to people actually playing to hit 80 and know where and what to go and do, so the casual players, if they can play it, probably will hit 20-30 tops, and be suckered into buying it, nice one funcom :P

Default Buddy keys now available

We have now opened the first part of the Buddy key program for Age of Conan! Everybody who has purchased a Collector’s Edition can now invite up to five friends, who can try the game for seven days without purchasing a retail box.

The invitation process is easy. You need to log-in to your account pages (link to https://register.ageofconan.com), and choose “Buddy program”. Follow the on-screen instructions, and then write a personal message to your friends if you so desire.

We recommend that you lend your install DVDs to your buddy to get him or her ready to play as fast as possible. Alternatively your buddy will be offered a $2,99/€2,99 client download with 3 additional days of playtime to cover the download time.

While this offer is only for Collector’s Edition accounts for now, we will soon open up for the Buddy key found in the standard retail box as well.

let me just say before the haters get in here.

That download fee is compensated by the extra 3 days playtime. Download for $3 for 10 days playtime, or lend install cd's for 7 days playtime - pretty fair imo. Especially considering the size of the download.

Playing: Age of Conan, Crysis Wars, Fallout 3, Supreme Commander.
Watching: Doctor Who S4, Stargate Atlantis S5

How will they be suckered?

You mean they might actually enjoy the game, are you scared that, this could be the case?

You have not lived until you''ve found something worth dying for.

3$ for 10 day trial is crazy. Funcom are nothing but scam artists. They charged 5$ for the early access and there download servers were so sucky that it took 3 days to download and on top of that they released the boxes 3 days early( if they wouldve let us know they were ding that then there wouldve been no need to struggle with their shitty download).

Funcom is doing a great job or making a laughing stock of themselves.

lol i dont know how I'd be scared if people like the game. If they like how the game is turning out, good for them, I wont stop them.

Its just my opinion, which I am allowed to say freely, whether people believe it or not, up to them.

You do realize the reason you might of had problems with the download don't you ? Secondly you might want to get used to paying for downloads , in the near future we might all be paying by the bit to dl stuff all over the interwebz.
