Maybe it's because all of those games are under a beta testing stage (excepting SGW, which is hyped cause it's a big IP, and Earthrise, which has some pretty nifty screens, bot imho that one shouldn't be there). Oh, and SOL is known cause the devs spend their whole day hyping the game up by creating new accounts, it should be deleted from the hype meter, but oh well.

Many Darkfall's fans lost fait on this project developers. They can have a publisher and what not, but they've lost all the respect by failing so many times in getting dates right, I'm not going to play a game where devs blatantly lie to their users, repeatedly, even if it sounds good on paper.

It has a few outdated looking Alpha videos with next to nothing going on in them and some outdated looking screenshots with horrible modelling work , terrible texture work and all around 2002 graphics. All after 7 years of work no less. LOL

The TRUTH is that they do not have a distibutor. AudioVisual DID NOT sign any kind of legal binding agreement to do anything for Aventurine or Darkfall.

The TRUTH is they do not have a release date. And even if they did name a date there is NO WAY that they would launch this game this year and they won't. That's just guranteed at this point.

The TRUTH is they do not have updates once every 2-3 weeks. If you consider Tasos making his usual bullshit vague posts as "news" then you deserve to be fed every lie that guy feeds to you.

The TRUTH is Razorwax went Bankrupt in 2006 and were involved in illegal shareholder activities within the company and now Aventurine is being run by the very same people who ran Razorwax.

Yes.. expect amazing things.  Not.

You know what I've noticed about these trolls, the ONLY reason why they think it isn't real is because it's a small development team that's working on it. I bet you if Activision-Blizzard was working on Darkfall and set aside a team of 20-40 people to work on it with the pace of updates Aventurine releases--there would be hardly any trolling.


Here's the common sense news which most people know, you don't have to question this. We all know about this.


- They HAVE a publisher, that's old news.

- Videos, I can agree most of the videos are fail. Seeing as they were taking from early stages in development. I'm more interested in this new video because it will show close to their final outlook of this game.

-They have an official announcement regarding release in 2008 and internally they're a lot more specific. The rest were just estimations and guestimates. I'll admit if they miss this, their vapor rating will defenitely be raised. But it still won't be vaporware.

- Yes the updates are slow, everyone knows this. They're a small company and they invest a lot of their time into the game. Maybe for the reasons the trolls bring. (i.e., buggy, laggy, etc.)

Lets be honest here, everyone wants to play this game. I really have no clue why people want to down it. "Oh they don't release a lot of updates, advertisements, videos, and graphics like AOC." That's not a valid argument. Both views of this games community--the trolls and the fanbois--is just PURE speculation. There's hardly any facts that this game is vaporware, but you have to admit. The facts that the game EXISTS is pretty damn overwhelming. Why would a TEAM of developers go 7 YEARS trolling? Makes no damn sense.

So Razorwax filed bankruptcy in 2006, but the developers of Razorwax left in 2003 to relocate in Greece. Starting the company Aventurine. They scrapped their old-version and started full production on the new one in late 2003-early 2004 if I'm right. I don't see how Razorwax has anything to do with their production.
 

Lastly this is a GAME. A video fucking game. People really need to relax, acting as if its politics or something. If you truly and honestly believe this game fails, WHY are you here. WHY are you trolling? To boost your ego? To get some followers? To feel you're not the only one who perceives this game as fake?
OK well, this is a forum. You can say what you feel. But please this game is still in development, you have to realize that this also comes into play when your releasing media information of your project.

That's all I can really think to say.

fact: AVE released an announcement to the Greek stock exchange stating they are partnering with Aventurine to distribute online games.

fact: Tasos said they are partnering with AVE to distribute Darkfall.

Yes there were press releases that an agreement was reached, time till tell if this has any success. Tasos says this or that.

fact: Tasos provides a truthful, honest update every 2-3 weeks. MMOs take a long time to develop, get over it.

Depends on the size of the game honestly, and no Tasos doesnt provide an update that often, most of the time its rehashed information presented in a different way.

fact: Darkfall is being released in 2008

Until the game is actually released your above statement is false until proven true. Fail.

fact: Darkfall has amazing videos and screenshots demonstrating 90% of claimed glameplay.

Dont know what videos your watching or screenshots your browsing, but 90 % is probably 50% over what is actually true.  Try again.

Probably true, I could care less about the legal history of a company I dont work for.

I am not a hater or fanboy, I seen to many games fail of late, hate to see any game fail for the sake of its fans.  Several of your claimed statements are not currently either True or they are not a verifiable tidbit.

Darkfall aside. And talking about MMO's in general. There is a consistant trend of people pointing out the areas that are suspect in a games design. There are also the supporters of the game that refuse to acknowledge the trends of these downfalls. However, when games go live usually they greatly under perform. The fanboi's usually end up repenting, or fade away. I have yet to understand why someone would take such a hard line stance in support of a game when given the past of MMO's they have a very good chance of being proven foolish and illogical.

2008 will pass and no game will be released and these same people will buy any explanation given.

The word troll was so bad used by fans that lost all mean in these forums.  Apparently, now, anyone doubting is a troll.

A moderator posted some weeks ago his personal opinion on what a troll really is but it seems many people didn't want to pay any attention.  He was very clear on what a troll really is.

These forums aren't just to post asking if there will be this or that in a game.  These forums are for discussing everything about the game.  As Aventurine had only release written text (and a couple of videos and some pics), its obviously people (after 7 years) will question things.

After 7 years of only written promises, it's not the people questioning the game what surprises me but the people blindly believing in it.  Of course, that may be the reason why religion exist too.

Fans could try to discuss with the people that doubt instead of attacking them.

Maybe DFO will release.  Maybe not.  If it release, it will have to have most of the features promised and, most difficult than anything, it will have to have them as we all imagine them (after all that's the problem with only written promises).  It will have to live the hype.

The clock is ticking.  I had been following this game too many years.  I will wait until the end of this year and if they didn't release anything, then this game is dead to me.

Call me a fanboi, but from what i've seen here ( http://www.darkfallonline.eu/darkfall-bilder/main.php ) i'm pretty sure there is a game Aventurine have been working out throughout those seven years. You can just see from the 2001-2008 screens how the game is slowly (reeeealy slowly) being polished and it finally looks complete. Plus they have a known publisher, who will only copy the CDs and distribute the game, and not breathe in the developers' necks. I hope next month they will clear the fog with a decent gameplay video (not just friggin mount riding again i hope).

Aaaah, humans. If it doesn't release fast enough it's vaporware. If it releases on time they also bash it.
