FACT - WAR is the only good MMORPG coming out for the next 2 years

FACT - WAR will be good

FACT - WAR is a great place to go for people who play WoW and don't raid

FACT - WAR is a competitive and addicting game with incentive

Don't like it? We don't care. Wait till it comes out and look at the reviews on metacritic of it. Till then it's only speculation.

I agree 100% with ya but there's some speech I'm confused you said *will* then you said *is* so did you play beta? I have and I'm loving it but if you haven't...well then I don't know how you said what you did. I see you said speculation but I still ponder...

It is sad because I really had hoped for a second good MMO game with a PvP base.

Reason:

The movement and animation in the WAR fights are soooo slow and unnatural: it is really painful.

Mythic used the same team that animated the DAoC avatars and ... it just shows.

Now I will have tons of comments on this.

But I know I am right. I checked with PvP die hards and they all make the same comment:

Have you EVER seen a running figure like the avatars in WAR. Do they have another gravity or something?

The fights are too sluggish, too slow, too static and have no dynamic whatsoever..

HAve you seen that WAR "fight" at the closed gate of the keep??? If you compare this "RvR" with WOW, you know exaclty WAR doesn't have a chance to get to a million subs.

A PvP game with no decent PvP "thrill" is as dead as a rock these days.

Soooooo ,let me get this straight. You and your friends are hard core PVP'ers and what your only beef is the graphics?

Also, slow? DAOC wasn't a slow fight. People fought fast and hard in that game. You sir, have no idea what you are talking about and give real hardcore players a bad name.

I don't know why Vick even posted here anyways...trolls waste their lives for nothing....anyways yes combat is slow but so is EVE, is EVE bad? Well to me it's TOO slow and too stragical but people still have it, they have a good amount of subs. WAR is a game that's been around for over 20yrs they have fans from board games to comics...I think. Face it Vick, WAR will be great and hope to see you in the future when you become a fanboi ^^ also hardcore pvp player means nothing, if all they do is do auto attack yes its slow!

Weird , you seem to think you speak for pvpers. Kinda sad that all the players from my old wow guild  ( with 11 total grand marshals , multiple teams in the top 5 arena ranking  and with most of us sticking it up since DAOC.) do not agree even a little with your half-ass comment.

Your sample comments from supposed hardcore Pvpers comes from noobs. Anyone that have PvP'd or play FPS at any hardcore level ( CAL/CPL or  arena/tournament type pvp ) knows that you can't judge theses things on any vids . That said vids are only good to pick up other teams tactics or study your own . It ALWAYS look slower thats why.

You are not playing thus the level of activity for your hands/brain/eyes/ears is minimal.

No thrill... yeah ok, thanks "Mr Pro-gamer".

Anyways,  Back to the Btest for me. I wasted enough time on your blind uneducated hating.

Is this guy serious? LMAO!  All my PvP friends are switching over including at least 20 from my old PvP guild who no longer play WoW.

Can you even fight at keeps in WoW?

WoW has no PvP progression, 4 BG + arena as endgame PvP, no worthwhile large scale PvP objectives, everything is item based.

If you're not switching to WAR you probably don't like large scale engame PvP and RvR.  In which case, stick to WOW and it's 4 BG and arenas pls.

WoW isn't a PvP thrill, it's monotonous repeated instanced endgame PvP.

This is an argument I have never really grasped: How come a game that is entertaining is somehow different in entertainment value for "oldskool players" than it is for "wutlolbbq kids"? I have been playing these silly Internet multiplayer RPGs ever since MUDs and still I fail to see how arduous grinding and mindless ganking is somehow "quality". However, this seems to be just the kind of valorised action that "oldskool" players are looking for. A chance to ruin totally others fun-factor of the game is to me the very anti-thesis of fun and its prevention has nothing to do with watering down the game.

I am not refering to WAR in particular with this but on the mindset that the more unfriendly the game the better. One just has to admit that long gone are the days when games were difficult to the point where they were frustrating. These days they offer various levels of challenge and it is there that WoW excels, like it or not. It just seems to me that e-peen can't grow long enough if also those with less time (skill?) to invest can excel in the game. Sorry for derailing but had to rant a bit.

Mass market appeal does not mean that the other games must have tedious grind or such.

Check out EVE Online, which is pretty old school and thinking man's MMO.  Compare a game like EVE to generic fantasy mass-market appealing MMOs like WoW and you understand the difference. Nothing to do with "grind". Albeit early fantasy MMO titles had extremely tedious grind, I do not think people hold that "feature" in such a high regard.

When they seriously reduce complexity in games, they also kill the sense of accomplishment.
