I had been using an ATI card, but it crashed and burned.  I have installed a Nvidia 7300 GT card.  Since doing so, I have had game freeze ups at different location.  My toon could be just running along, and the game will freeze.  To unlock it ,most of the time, I hit ctl alt del, to get to the process page.  This min. LOTRO.  Then I close this window, go back to Lotro, and I can move.  It is very strange.  I have also had this same lock up problem with other games.  I have tried several things.  I have removed all video drivers with a driver cleaner, installed Omega Drivers for the card.  Then Lotro, would not even run.  So I took these out, installed the latest Nvidia drivers, and the same thing happens.  I have tried different settings for the game, same problems.  This freeze up happens aprox. 2 to 4 times in a 4 hour period.  ANY ideas???  Thanks.

The card is an AGP card.  Yes, I need to get a new MB, but not yet.

7600GT is a lower end card , I would take it back and get a 8800GT for almost the same price . 7600GT won't perform that well and also the HD 4000 series are out and have ddr5 ram ... why did you by a 7600GT ?.?

I hade the same pproblems with the 8600GT , so I recommend the 8800GT or an HD3000 or HD 4000 card .

 AGP card.

The 7300GT  and one other low end ATI car were all that were available at the Best Buy in my area.

Does the 8800 come in AGP??  I don't think it does, but I could be wrong.

Try going into the options in game under troubleshooting and lower the engine speed a couple of notches.

I have a 7300 AGP also for about 3 months and it's working pretty fine...

Perhaps a DirectX upgrade?

7300GT is Pci-express ?

I would strongly consider just upgrading your computer ... I would imagine you on a single core cpu and about 512meg /1 gig of ram as well ? Specially if you want to be able to play other games like Bioshock , Crysis , Fall out 3 ...

I will post my system settings.  I do know it is slow, compared to what we have today, but I plan on upgrading it.  I just need to do it for the lowest amount of money, that I can play LOTRO at full graphics and DX-10.  LOTRO, is the only game I play, but I will try out WAR, when it does hit the shelves.

I do want to try out AOC, but I want to use a Buddy Key, and not spend the money if I do not like it.

If you can do it , drop some more memory in it, it should help push some of the taks around to free up some cpu and gpu power.. AoC on that rig , it will explode lol...

At new egg I was able to put together a small upgrade of mobo / cpu / memory / gfx card for under 600 dollars ...

Single-core and Agp.. hum..

Well, like the previous guy said, more ram could do wonders. Get 2gig in total and you should be fine :p

dell has a really nice deal going on now, 500 bucks for Q6600 processor (2.4 ghz quad), 3gb ddr2 ram, 500 gb harddrive.

i just got my own, although i opted for 4gb ddr2 ram. so far I have no complaints. The integrated graphics were enough to run LOTRO on ultra high settings.

The only complaint is the HORRIBLE PSU that came with the comp. It is just enough to run the computer as it was shipped.  I ordered an 8600GT as it is the only card that i can put in my computer without frying everything.

When i get a little extra cash, i will buy a better PSU and probably an 8800GT

I highly recommend upgrading your computer. Even if it i
