I heard that the buddy program was supposed to be released last week, but I've been checking for pretty much everyday now (I do want to try it out, just to see if it's as bad as everyone says, but I do think it is), and nothing:

Buddy Program ........... Coming soon

Ok, that soon must be an eternity.

I'm starting to think that Funcom is actually scared to release the buddy program, in fear of getting people to try out such a horrible game, and not get any subscriptions. Of course they know that they're game is broken, they just don't want to admit it. But, I guess that just goes to show, Funcom is actually Failcom.

I paid for the game, therefor I paid for a Buddy Key.

Anyway the person I was going to give it to would probably never use it, they paid for the fileplanet beta and couldnt even play on medium hardware that supposedly touts as working better then up to date.

The player ratio I was seeing that would be playable was about 60% of people could play this game.

I know plenty who bought the game, and every single one never paid beyond the free month.

Yes???

The fact the game is not ready except for those who play maybe an hour a day.

Imagine the downslide in subscribers if players gave their friends the keys, and then all the suicides from players killing themselves after their friends stop speaking to them for giving them the key in the first place?

Just speculation is all.

Star Wars Galaxies, R.I.P. NGE was your final death blow.

I don't know guys.... I agree the buddy keys should be out now.  I would like to give mine away.

but...  cmon the first 20 lvl's in tortage is a pretty decent MMo experience...   Audio on all quest givers?  That's absolutely great thinking on FC part...  just wish they did that for all quest givers throughout entire game.

And the lore of the starter quests is pretty good too.  I actually did it twice and both times I was loving it.

just my opinion tho...

and as a side note:  Do ya ever wonder how many ppl under 18 play AoC?

Played and enjoyed:
EQ2,DAOC,GW,WOW

I don't think Funcom is worried at all

they just are unable commit to any time line  -- even if the timeline is 1 week

Buddy Keys will be probably be available before August

take the funcom timeline and multiply by 3

It's pretty darn stupid of FC not to release the Buddy program sooner. The First 20 levels are probably the best experience in AoC with the STory-Quests, the complete voice-overs, and so on and so forth. The game can hook you in those parts and it may well be people would have continued playing after the trial if they got a taste for it.

Never mind the problems that arise later though.

This I think is why they have not released them. Once the population completely thins out, then they will bring in more suckers (oops...sorry...players) via the buddy key system.

They will get enough time to get to level 20 before they buy, and they ALL buy

Why?

The first 20 levels are AWESOME
