Hi guys.  Now i've played many of the games out there...Guild Wars, Diablo 2(cant wait for Diable 3!), Cabal, Requiem, WoW, LOTRO, Ultim Online(BEST game ever...pre AoS), Arch Lord, ShadowBane...the list just goes on and on.

Now what i'm looking for is a mmo either f2p or p2p(doesmt really matter) that has virtually no restrictions. One where I can go anywhere and do anything(also keeping in mind its just a game :) )

I've been looking at Vanguard.  Good choice?  It looks rather good.  Anyway, my computer will play anygame out there so there's no restrictions on performance, but I do only have maybe 3-4 hours per day to play(more on my days off work)

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Vanguard has class restrictions, so if you want something with virtually no restrictions you actually might want to try Runescape. Honestly RS is one of the best sandbox games out there especially if you are stretched for time.

Define 'Sandbox mmo' then. Seriously, im a little confused. Every1 always goes on about a sandbox mmo, but what exactly does that entail. And does it have 2 be server free?

The only mmo where you are nearly fully free EVE, very special game not for everyone but one of the only mmos where you can play 24/7 since realease and still have stuff to do.

I would recommend Dark Age of Camelot, the Gaheris server.  The Gaheris server is a pve only server so all three realms can group together and you can go to any of the realms with any character.  This server has a great community which is really what makes an online game fun to play.

I'm not sure what expansions come with the client download. There are 4 expansion downloads on their site. You can dowload all of the expansions.  Trials of Atlantis and Catacombs are free so download them if they are not included with the client download. Darkness Rising and Labrynth of the Minotaur you have to pay to activate.

If you want to play on a pvp server I would recommend the classic ruleset.  The servers for classic are Gareth, Lamorak and Ector.  Mythic is planning on releasing a new server called Origins sometime soon so you can start fresh with everyone else on that server if you want to.

Every MMO has servers so therefore, that makes every MMO NOT a sandbox, which isn't true.

I would highly recommend Vanguard. If you are not sure, wait a month or so for the new trial island/newbie area and you can try it for yourself.

Other than class/race restrictions, the game is open. The world is completely open. You can pretty much go anywhere and do anything. To me, it combines the best of old-school EQ with LOTRO and WOW. Now its not a perfect game at all - lots of bugs and issues like that, but the GM's are very helpful. I have not encountered any game-breaking bugs yet and I am level 20.

Also, what is great about Vanguard is that it is so much fun (as far as exploration goes), that I have turned off/reduced my experience gain just so I do not out level the content!! Its the kind of game that you want to "stop and smell the roses". No reason to rush at all.

it is a lot like the Gaheris server in DAOC. I played there (50 Thane) and I enjoyed my time there a lot so its another possibility. I have tried going back but the population is small and it seems very noticeable.

Well there are degrees into which a game is a sandbox and everyone seems to have an idea of what a sandbox is. That being said given my expereince in gaming the general concept of a sandbox game is when the game simply allows the players to interact with the world and create the environment themselves.

Take Age Of Empire for example. The world starts with a couple of guys and they collect resources and build a civilization around them. AOE isn't an MMO, but if your familiar with AOE, civilization, starcraft the concept is similar.

To date no MMO has followed the concept of a sandbox to that degree, but the idea is that the players define the world and the game simply provides the elements to inteact with that world.

As for what tleytek was saying...he was being a smartass and saying that runescape is a video game and isn't played with actual sand.
