Age of Conan

I'm back to World of Warcraft again. The decision to be made later on is Warhammer or Wrath of the Lich King. I wont pre-order Warhammer that's for sure. Enough wasted money on MMO games that I dont play. If I dont get into any kind of Warhammer beta I will most likely not play it at all unless alot of friends starts playing it and love it. If a game is believed to be good enough by the developers they will have an open beta for alot of people that's for sure. If they dont or they limit the beta combined with a big hype, then I wont touch the game at all. :)

The Default answer is "Wait till WAR"...However I wager that many of the AoC bashers will also Bash WAR for the similar reasons (It'll be a good game, but not pristine and perfect out of the box). Who knows what WAR wil be like on release and when the release will be.

So, list what MMO you plan to play because AoC failed to entice you.

RULES:
1. Only list MMOs. No listing console games, or FPS
2. No Need to Flame, just by writing a response you have demonstrated you are one of the upset players and have (or will have) moved on.
3. List only MMOs that are currently released and available to be played. Just like WAR the "IM waiting for the next big thing" doesnt help the average player.
4. List the MMO and what it is about that MMO that makes you go to it. It may be that you can aid others like you

Want it or not wow is the best, most fun, most bug free, most features, quests, gear etc on earth...

People get tired sometimes..but when you go play another game you realise no other game can compare to the polish wow has..and wotlk is looking awsome....apart from all new features..the graphics revamp also, well its blizzard making it..so less then awsome its not acceptable...

People say its more of the same grinding, questing, bgs, arenas, raids, factions, gear etc ..but isnt life the same everyday? arent other mmos the same everytime but less polished, less content?Isnt grinding for something you want ingame what makes you play the game everyday?

So for me its always wow untill something better comes...if it ever comes....wow is pure magical fun world...others will come but will they have that special flavour wow has?

WoW will never have an iota of originality, it will always lack the "magic" of eq1 imo. Just because you hobbled together ideas taken from other companies doesnt mean youve made a good game. It just means someone decided instead of furthering the genre, theyd milk it for cash instead.

i came from lineage2 to age of conan and i absolutely love conan
i tried wow for a few days but couldnt bring myselve to play those shallow quests in cartoony graphics

my adwise for people bored with conan because they are lvl 80 is:

if you want to stay in conan: you need to join a huuuuuuge guild
there actually is some cool endgame content but only if you can raid/siege/minigame with 30+ people
im a fan of small guilds composed of friends myselve but in conan it seems there is some big guild exclusive content wich currently keeps me in game

if you want to try another mmo game: try dungeons & dragons online
ddo is totally underrated imho and absolutely fun to play in both solo play as in groups
the adventures are even more complex then in conan

if you just want to pass time till war: try some single player games
i felt i missed out on a lot of cool games beeing centered on mmos only like
assasin creed, mass effect, fable, nwn just to name a few

both are good points   ...i missed out on assassin's creed so ive been trying to play that....

DDO is very underrated i played the trial a long long time back  but it was very fun and solo play is very enjoyable and groups are always fun the quests are really really good and the game play is fun..

lately i have been playing Mass Effect  (second time through cause i rushed the first time to finish the story) and Sword of the New World ....IMHO the BEST free MMO on the market  (aside from GW which will always hold a specail place in my mind due to being the game that held me in the longest  i mean 45 days played time over a course of 70 days on my ele that i made for NF..yeah it was that great...) SotNW is very unique and has great gameplay with its controls (i mean you control three character at once) i feel that SotNW is under rated as well and is a great time sink for those who "just need something to play".

Now i have resisted the urge to go back to DAoC and i think my wait will pay off with Warhammer despite all the nay-sayers i Feel that this game will be great and i can not wait to play it in San Diego in just three days!!!!!  i think i will set aside a whole day at comic con for it...

and i agree with the posters before me about beta...I was in Beta for Tabula Rasa and i must say I LOVE VERY SECOND OF IT..I loved the idea of the game and the setting as well as the lore and story behind it and in the game..however i played it to death and in the end at release it just wasn't fun anymore...and i don't think i will ever set foot in that game again....

betas can be a problem for some people and to tell you the truth i think i am glad i am not in the WAR beta  for it would not have the same feeling as it will when i log on launch day...(i plan to play order so i will play destruction at Comic Con)

Well i beat nearly 100% of gw's pve and did some pvp in it, it was great lacked some feature that can be very fun. then played rappelz and the grind nearly killed me. Started eve felt awesome but much to big after gw and rappelz. Tried aoc for 2 weeks using a friends account and got so much bugs and ganking that I decided that I gave it up. Picked up lotro and loving it, hass all the polish you'd need in a game, good storyline, agreable graphics. Great game ovrerall.

After quitting WoW for AoC, i really didnt feel like going back to WoW, so i gave L2 a try and im having a blast so ill stick with that until something else comes out.

Guild Wars.

I'm playing guild Vs guild there and it has and is the best balanced and competitive PVP out there.

The learning curve is big, but after some losses you'll get your ability match and you'll be able to advance from there.

Each fight, you gain or loose points according to the level of the guild you fight. There is also a matiching mechanism that match you with a peer guild (of the same skills).

I'm spoiled by non-autoattack combat for ever. There is no alternative to AoC that is as fresh and fast paced as this. Only way I would go is back to EVE where is still keep my chars training for when I one day return. But that is of course not comparable to AoC.
