Well, first off, we still don't have an official bioware confirmation... so we'll see whats up with that whole mess. But above all else, don't go too crazy for a KOTOR MMO or.. well, even any SW MMO for that matter. It won't be Pre-CU, nor will it be whatever you want it to be. Just like the other MMOs out there, it is a game world that will allow you to rent space in it for a monthly fee, when it goes live. I've always been of the belief, having seen the beta boards and public boards pre-release, that the fans helped murder the game with expectations that were completely above human limitations. The organic jedi system, the class balance and pvp issues, how the game should be, etc etc were all debated and drove into the ground well before the game came out. Granted, the paying public should get the most bang for their buck, but the community didn't really help the situation with SWG. All the pre-release complaints and theories only made the situation worse for all involved, and helped inspire a development cycle that continued in a downward spiral until it all culminated in the release of the piss-poor NGE. This is certainly not a defense of the development of the game, and is not intended to say the developers and visionaries at SOE/LA were at all competent. They failed at large and helped destroy an otherwise fantastic game with immense potential. All I'm saying is Star Wars fans have pretty high expectations from these games, whom are being designed and drafted by people that are just as human as you or I. We may not want another SWG replayed, from release through NGE, but let's all do our part to ensure we don't create a setting where such a measure is "required" or otherwise instituted. Food for thought. (I hope.) |

I've only seen one regular poster who thinks that a new bioware game would be just like pre-CU SWG. I don't think it's an opinion shared by many other people. |

The official confirmation will come from LucasArts, probably much sooner than they had wanted due to the slip up by EA's CEO. The game itself will be much closer to Bioware's other games, in style, than it will be to pre-CU SWG. My only real concern is that I hope they go with a combat system that is closer to the traditional MMO style combat than the psuedo-FPS style of combat that hasn't been successful in any MMO yet (nor has any MMO that uses it been very successful).

I dont expect a KOTORO in a pre-CU skin. But what I do expect is a well designed game, polished, loads of content and a game that doesnt pretend to be something else than it is. I expect good quality of the game, their forums, their customer service and their servers. Thats it. |

too hyped up? too late. these people set themselves up for a massive overdose of hype whenever any games is announced. just look at all the threads like Bioware MMO facts and rumors and the millions of speculation threads. people need to learn to calm down especially over news that talks about a game well over 1-2 years off (2 at the least i would think) |

What I'm personally hopeing for, is a MMO that isn't in "beta" for 5 years of paid subs. My only advise to Bioware, is once you have a winning product, in actual beta, leave it alone and add to it, not nerf and take away once you have people paying for the product. |

Well it got me thinking. You know celebrities pull stunts to get free press? Well maybe this highly educated CEO of one of the worlds largest gaming companies didn't "screw up" or let it slip out. Maybe it's a brilliant piece of marketing to get the masses drooling over a game they are expecting to release in 2-4 years.

I just hope these guys have learned from their previous experiences and from what they've seen of other MMO companies launches over the past few years. I honestly would love another sandbox SWG that is complex, player-driven, full of endless possibilities and plentiful with options. CHOICE! I don't want another wow wannabe clone game trying to tell you "1 to 80 cookie cutter go go go!". I am sick to death of that, and as much as SWG was my favorite game (from launch until NGE anyway), I will without hesitation trash it as soon as I see some lame linear advancement system where everyone is doing the same exact thing. They need to get smart fast and realize that a Star-Wars skinned WoW is NOT the answer. There's a lot of lazy devs out there that think "oh, wow was successful, lets make this just like that kind of system, easy enough for a 7 year old or the casual 74 year old in a retirement home to figure out, yeah, profit!". |

Fanboi is not a word, it is just bad grammar. |

*Yawn*
Lame comments like this are becoming stale.
What is it that makes you some kind of elite gamer that needs to play games with the complexity of Deep Blue? Then again, forgot I was in the SWG Veteran Refuge, where they know all and everyone else knows squat. |
