I really do not see wtf is wrong with sharing some details with there loyal fan base. They have been working on this IP since FEB 2006. I know they have something to show for all their hard work and effort. The cat is out of the bag now, why not embrace the mob? |

Most likely, they will be announcing it when....*drumroll* they are ready!!!!
Seriously. I'm pretty sure they have various issues. There's the trademark issue for one. The licensing, how long that lasts with SOE. Copyright stuff to think about. There's a homepage that has to be built. Screenshots, maybe even Video's have to be done. Text has to be written etc.
I think EA's president caused the BioWare guys to fume with anger cuz now they have to rush things with their announcement. *shrug* Just my thoughts though. |

So what is going to happen when they finally do release all the details? How will it be different then? At least by talking about it during the DEV cycle they can make changes early to unpopular features. |

It's quite obvious, they want to make their game , without hearing anyone's two cents on the matter. Bioware is smart here IMO , With no information on what the game is , How it will function etc...they avoid outside pressure , Most likely creating a much more focused development path . |

The reason why people are so passionate about the next star wars mmo is because this is the game that should be kind.
I am surprised in the ultimate nerd genre, Star wars and dungoens and dragons have the weakest games out there, when they have hte most potential ofr a strong game. Star wars on name alone can attract a hardcore playerbase, but it jsut seems like they keep drawing craps when it comes to devolopers for the game.
This time however i am confident that bioware will do something great, just look at KOTOR, baldurs gate, neverwinter nights, mass effeect and their upcoming dragon age. I have no doubt that this game will be done right. |

I don't think that the release of KOTOR Online will necessarily mean the end of SOE's license. They can easily have these two SW games running at the same time. Whether or not they will shut down SWG will only depend on its subscriber numbers. But one reason that Bioware/LA have been so secretive about their MMO might well be that they do not want to hurt the SWG subscriber numbers right now (LA is still making money from it). And of course to be able to develop the game quietly. 38 Studios are doing the same thing. But I am quite sure that the statement in the recent interview, revealing the Bioware MMO setting, was done on purpose. An official announcement is probably coming soon. |
