is aion free or need to pay to play?

Pricing has not been announced but probably like NCSoft's other games and $15 a month.

so it is a pay to play game...(noooo)

im 95% certain it will be Pay 2 play on the same sub as Tabula Rasa NC Soft's newest title which is £9 a month

To be honest, though I may not like paying, I'd rather have Aion as a P2P game than a F2P. The reason being that they won't resort to a cash shop as well as the fact that the community will be somewhat more mature. I know this may not apply to some P2P games to many people, but through my experience (including WoW), P2P communities are much more mature than the F2F communities simply because the game isn't so freely available.

most definately even GW community with you having to outlay for the game helps keep them away.

It's better Aion - The Tower of Eternity it's pay to play becuase it's ever expensive to buy cash item from item malls of any free games, I would like to hate to play with cash depending game so pay to play is the best. :)

Aion was obviously going to be P2P from the start.

Just look at the graphics never seen a free MMO with next gen graphcis like that.

It has a kool concept most free MMO do not basically GRIND all day

NCsoft makes great MMOs but they always have a catch.

Like Dungeon Runners..or City of Heroes

All alrite MMOs but they each have a catch City of Heroes/Villians obviously p2p

and Dungeon Runners had that 15$ a month for access to exclusive content.

Anyways , Aion was p2p just by looking at it.

Most of us that are going to play Aion expect Quality and Support. Things you only get in a Pay-2-Play game.

The biggest fraction of the MMORPG community nowdays, wants Quality games. The MMORPG universe is  full of crappy F2P games, why? because they are F2P.

See? we dont care about the payement, we just want a superb game, that  will make us play it with a smile on the face.

And, as weird it might seems, if it was free, you wouldn't have so many peeps interested in Aion.

Ok not all F2P games have bad quality. games like Rappelz by Gpatato or swords of the new world or 2moons or Edumons online or Requeim and i could go on and on. but the point is not all F2P games have bad quality. also there are games like Guild Wars series which is Ncsoft game, Diablo series which is a blizzard game, and Hellgate Londan these games are F2P but you have to buy it, i find that fine. so Aion should be a buy to play game.

Diablo isn't a MMO, it's an RPG with multiplayer option, it misses the massive part, same goes with Guild wars, dunno about HG:L but the company has closed so who cares.

Aion is a MMORPG, the world is massive, you can get to play with 5000 players around you, and as such, it is P2P.

You can't even compare the graphics. Perfect world uses a cheap graphics trick called bloom. In the Aion image it doesn't even look as if bloom is turned on.

Majority of the current gen games use bloom, and Aion will most likely use it. Video posts effects can be cheap, and help soften up the edges with out having the use Anti Aliasing, but it kind of gives it a soft fuzzy look if over used.

Anyways technical jargon aside, the screen for Aion looks amazing, and I'm loving the art direction. Perhaps the 1/2 korean in me is getting excited over this game.

On a side note the Perfect World screenshot particle effects kind of remind me of EQ classic for some reason lol.

its a good thing its pay to play cause that means that it will most likely have more content and have more frequent updates than most free games
