Its all fun and games until the flying monkeys attack. |
It was said that AV matches used to last days. Was anyone actually playing during that point in time and can tell me whether or not its true? Four years ago it wasnt there.. because thats when I was playing.. Also. Just to be ironic, Im afking in AV right now. But thats not why I made this topic :D |

4 years ago Wow didn't even exist. :))) ( °Nov 2005) I just played an AV that lasted 1hour and 11 minutes. I am happy that most are under 40 minutes now, A football match lasts 2 X 45 minutes. A basketball match 4 x 25 minutes. Videogames that last a day as PVP are (very) boring in 99% of the time. It may seem epic, but most long matches fail to deliver. |

My main was on Kilrogg -- I can verify that back on those early days, our longest AV last for 3 days. |

4 days.... Back in the days when there were NPCs, dieing to a NPC got you durability loss, people loved to fish, people actually took supplies for a NPC push, wyverns/gryphons wreaked havoc, Korrak (sp?) was a meance in the field of strife, rams/wolf packs were feared, the elementals were summoned and had BoP blues when killed, the eye was tresaured, shredders were OP, and you could get exalted in one game..... ...and of course, when paladins could bubble and cap the flags. The good ole days. |

Some games were stalemates for hours, but some games were filled with people who just ran to the middle of the map to farm honor by killing each other over and over. Some games were really epic back and forth struggles with people going after objectives and using team work.
Some long games were great and others you couldn't get out of fast enough. |

It goes both days. I remember trying to play AV back in the day. Day long matches where nothing happened but honor farming wasn't for me. Now we're on the other end of the spectrum where some AV games take 15-30 minutes and you get to play the same BG about 8 million times with everyone doing the exact same thing/objectives like PVP robots. Neither are much fun. |
