Not really.. Their past videos have been nothing but simulations with NPCs ( from what I have seen ). So having a UI will show that someone is actually playing the game and its not another staged video. Seeing a mouse cursor move around clicking / targeting things goes a good ways in showing something is actually happening. I never noticed how many people that follow Darkfall go on vacation in Greece.... |

With it being such an easy thing to execute then NOT having a UI still leaves it lacking reality. |

There is no witness so terrible and no accuser so powerful as conscience which dwells within us. |

I'm extremely interested in finding out what the UI is like, even how the combat actually works. This game sounds like it could easily do without a full skill bar like WoW. Especially since they mentioned combat comparative to Mount & Blade which doesn't use a skill bar in the least. I think its imperative they do show some type of UI at this point --- unless they somehow believe they won't need a UI .. .thats kinda hard to believe though. |

Dark Age of Camelot had this, Vanguard, Age of Conan, World of Warcraft, because no one really cares about the UI, they want to see the features. Thats what a gameplay movie is. Just eye candy. Now if you want a DEMONSTRATION, that's completely different. Someone sitting in the chair playing the game while someone with a camera is over their shoulder. That usually occurs at press events.
And, perhaps you hadn't noticed, but there are already screenshots with the UI. The UI does not count towards the game being real, I think the fact that they have a well known publisher is testiment to them being real. |

Good news, even if we're pretty much left where we were about information about the game. I'm glad to hear they can afford to start taking weekly vacation rotations now, since noone I've known in the industry has taken a vacation during crunch time before release, on the contrary. Afterwards though? Hell yeah. So props to project management at Aventurine there. |

I do think they will release something... the question is what. I hope its what we all desire. But I may be wrong and they may, once again, not release it. LOL Anyway, I already said I would give them the last chance that will end at the end of the year. If they dont release something by then (even at least the beta), then DFO is totally dead to me.

I want to see the video of these "large" battles. You know, the 200+ on screen at a time battles with no lag that we keep hearing about. And there better be no lag other than what Fraps puts in, and there better be a UI, since I find it hard to believe someone will be in a huge battle playing with no UI to hit menus/see healthpoints of themselves and others/etc. Oh, unless this will just be a video OF a "large battle" and not a video of someone actually PLAYING the game and fighting. In which case, it's just another damn movie and as unimpressive as the rest. We shall see. |
