Hi.

After the latest patch my AOC game has been very unstable.. I have been getting frequent "Out of memory" errors, and an equal amount of "Game not responding"

Am I the only one that are getting more game stability errors after the patch? I have never had any of those problems before this weeks patches.

Im running it on this rig:

Core 2 Quad Q9450 @ 3.66 GHz
XFX nForce 790i Ultra SLI
4x1 GB Corsair 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM
Geforce 8800 GTS-640
Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty
2x250 GB Samsung drives in Raid-0

There should be no problems with running AOC on this system, and yet i get frequent crashes and out of memory errors.

Try changing the shader from 3 to 2.x or 2 in options.

If you are running the game on Vista and getting Out of Memory crashes, you can try the following tweak. Ive been playing the game with this tweak from the get go and I only once have crashed so far with an out of memory error after many hours of play.

Click on Start button
Click on All Programs
Click on Accessories
Right click on Command Prompt and chose Run as administrator
Copy and Paste the following command and click enter:

BCDEDIT /set increaseuserva 2900

Reboot your system.

What this will do is allow the game to use more private address space than the regular 2GB limit. This tweak fixed all the out of memory crashes in Supreme Commander and will help in other graphically intensive games like AoC.

Memory leaks is something that should be dealt with in beta....

Never had that problem, even during beta. I have had crashes, and BSOD's once or twice but never a Out of Memory error.
