WoW is pretty feggin huge. But Bioware has the financial backing and knowhow i think to make a extremly well built MMO and its gonna brake the 1 million mark im sure. Thinking back when WoW launched and its success. Everyone and his brother jummped on the bandwagon to copy its success and take their customers. Bad move, WoW players enjoyed the game and saw no reason to switch to another game. Its been over four years since WoW launched, if KOTORO launches next year, lets say just before the hollydays. Then it has been almost six years and the timing for a new epiq MMO could just be perfect? Either way its the most anticipated MMO out there today. And they dont even have a website or a forum for a community to form.

The problem with the fact that bioware has the financial backing to do such a mass-market mmo is that it will end up being your typical wowlike mass-market mmo and you'll end up with a watered down same-old same-old, instead of the king of all mmo's. (big investment in mmo dev = need for mass financial return = mass-market please-everone crappy typical mmo) So I agree, it wont be the biggest mmo ever, it will be one of those things that after release everyone and their dog whines about on these forums (like post-nge swg, or aoc, or all your recent mmos) |

I'm sad to see a class-based, more linear game, but at least it will be a class-based linear game THAT ROCKS! - To anyone that doubted a second SW-based MMO, you must have been in denial. It was inevitable.
I'd really like to see some innovative stuff in this but at this point I'd just be happy if it's not an RMT based game. I'd be happy if this new mmo finally delivers the deathblow to swg and we won't have to hear about it again. |

I find it so odd that people always want a WOW killer. Along with this line people say things, like was mentioned in this post earlier, about making the best MMO out there but only expecting just another WOW clone and water downed game. Um hello people... WOW is the king of the MMO's atm not matter how you feel about it so those types of comments are just stupid to post. honestly I would prefer a solid MMO atm. So many of the games, most resently being AOC, have been lack luster overall. We need a solid MMO to come out rather then MMO's with small populations. Hopefully WAR will be solid even if it it's smaller at the start then hoped for. Along with this title hopefully the new Star Wars MMO would be solid also. Any game has to start solid to become great. Bioware making a good MMO? Not sure about that myself yet, but Bioware knowing how to make an immersive world with some interesting content? Absolutely. I believe with Bioware and their distancing from SOE by LA all the while linking up with EA, like them or not, being a strong company that is pushing hard to get a strong footing in the online field is are bonuses for the game even before we get to the actual game itself. Things seem to be looking up for gamers. |

Originally posted by Zorvan Baldur's Gate was still a big open world game (especially part 1). But since then, their games have become more and more linear indeed. |
