I didn't start this post that some can acuse each other of .... whatever.

I'm not looking for diferences in gaming community but things on witch we can agree on.

I think (and this is my personal opinion) anyone who plays mmos and spending money on it have right 2 know as much as possible on game witch i or u plan 2 buy. We (i and maybe u) must have a negative opinion on obvious lies, ignorance and PR witch they call itself a gamers community. 

That i think is what we should agree on.

Well After being burned by the infamous Dark and Light release and the Vanguard release, I decided that I would not ever enter a new game until it has been alive for at least 90 days. This allows time for the first wave of players to tear through the content and find the real soul of a game. It is also enough time to get some reactive patching and content adds in by the develpers.

This game has recieved so much hype and so many of my buds were contacting me to get me into the game. I refused and chose to wait. I think I am glad I did.

Has anyone noticed, there hasn't been a really successful MMO launch in a long time? Seriously? Maybe the best sustained game is LOTRO and even it isn't really doing all that fantastic.

LOTRo is actually doing all that fantastic. The player base is currently slowly improving. The difference is, the adv campaign for lotro was/is much smaller than WoW/AoC. And while WoW spent 40$ mil just for advertisment before release, turbine hardly payed that much for the whole development.

Agreed but ur first post  is sorta not specific, i can see why it has attracted flammers and fan boys alike, i also would like to i wouldnt be surprised if funcom has deleted account and posted misleading info, i mean everyone new the jig was up like 2 days into launch saying they had no probs and their worlds best customer support would deal with any prob hahaha bs lol i mean seriously , and for those of us  that lost of accounts massing gold for our guild that quit we our characters were wiped tat was the last nail in the coffin for me,  I mean people can play this game and enjoy this game, it has some fairly innovative stuff but would I ? its a personal decision , maybe a stupid one , but its every bodies choice to make.

Basically U should have been clearer, and yes funcom can be.. "misleading" to say the least

people want games like pre-tram uo or pre-cu swg.

Ah here we can agree, but I would have said there are gamers that would like games to be similair but improved up on  pre-tram or pre-cu SWG.

mark my words funCON will in the next 2 months drop the 360 aoc. that will be good as of this e3 micro$oft showed how well the 360 is doing. and in 4 months funCON will be looking for someone to buy them out.

That would not even really suprise me, I mean we had several other MMORPG's saying it will be released on Xbox or Playstation, yet none of them actualy has done so.

this is a good thing my friends as now new mmo devs are going to see that telling lies to your playerbase and ripping them off and giving them boring systems is not the way to go.

Yet developers continue to listen to the most persistant complainers and will continue to dumpdown these games cause lets face the fact many complainers actualy in many cases (by no definition ALL) don't even understand what they want, else you would not see all this dumping down with these games, I mean havn't you seen what those whiny persistant moaners did on forums, RIGHT they made SOE give us the NGE, cause again the majority of forum trolls was louder then the majority of gamers actualy playing the game.

by the end of this year gaming will be back on track so thank you funCON for helping us all win out in the end.

Trust me you WILL continue to WIN, and the proof of your win is seeing more and more games being dumped down. So you're happy now?, WELL I'M not even slightly amused, but one day you might understand all of this, but I believe that time has not come yet for you.....(unfortunaly)

And to OP: I don't need to know everything about these games, that is a mistake many people on these forums make, cause when they read "stuff" they suddenly become experts in the field. I enjoy a game for what it gives me and not how high or low stocks are. Unless one would have stocks of FC it might be intresting to them.

Sandbox games bore me to death, I'll gladly take EQ/WoW over something like UO or AC.

Believe it or not you do not talk for all MMORPG fans.

I was participating in the Codemasters management of LOTRO not Turbines. The game isn't a flop, but its not really all that great. (my opinion). While I did enjoy the books as a kid, the movies as an adult, fantasy MMOs are getting way oversaturated IMO. And its a shame because LOTRO should be a centerpiece for that class of games.

Also Turbine is a publisher not the developer. And LOTRO has more than one publisher. Just an FYI.

Even though I am a current AOC player I agree with your intent and rational behind it. being well informed is a good thing. The problem with these forum is that the most vocal part of the community has become so polarized. If you like something about a game the nay sayers call you a fanboi, if you dislike the game you are a troll and narry the twain shall meet. Thus, nearly every thread breaks down into a flame war.

Visit the WAR forums, it is the same nonesense and the game is still in closed beta. Go back to the beginning of the LOTRO forums. Same thing. The funny thing is the so-called haters and trolls (which there are definately some of) throw out all this consipracy, game is crap, will fail posts and these game will all still be around with their loyal fanbases and make enough money to continue forward.

I consider myself a pretty "cup half full" type of guy and these forums have become so negative I aske myself why I return. I come back to keep up on real items, good or bad, that are brought up, such as was intended in this thread chain. The problem is I start reading the rest of the garbage too.

To be honest. I would prefer a sandbox game over the linear games that make up most of the MMOscape. While the Pre-CU version of SWG was underdeveloped and buggy, the concept is sound. The guy doesn't speak for me, but there are a lot of us MMO fans that are wanting a sandbox game.

There are also MMO fans looking for  more SciFi games. Eve Online is nice, I play it, but we need more.

There are millions of MMO players that play classic grindfest games like 2moons/Dekaron put out by GameTribe and Acclaim. While no one game has the millions, over a broad span of games the numbers add up. And this is what a lot of developers see. Lots of people willing to gind away and very simplistic, linear systems with the occational flashy particle effect.

There is plenty of room in the MMOsphere for every kind of gamer. What is a real gamer? Any gamer that has a passion for their game.

Also, I saw some talk about how Dev rarely if ever go to boards and flame other games. Trust me, they do. They also come post in support of their games to counter flamers. You seem to forget, they can log in as anyone they wish. There is no need for them to say 'hi Im a Dev'. You see, devs are normal people like you and me. Its best you remember that. Devs are here, they are reading, they are posting as themselves, not as devs.
