Gamers who use RMT are like athletes who use steroids.

Do you pay piecemeal or a stipend and what would be the minimum pay?

We are not currently looking for freelance and / or paid writers. We are looking for volunteer writers for our correspondent program.

I believe the positions they are asking for are voluntary.

Think of it as a way of padding your resume.   You do work for free, and if they like it, it gets to a place where many more will see it.      With success under your belt, a time may come in the future where you can ask for a salary and have stuff like this as credentials.

I work in publishing, and I can tell you that if I were hiring, I would laugh and laugh at anyone who put MMORPG.com on his resume.

Hey people, I have an even better employment opportunity for you!  I need some guys to whitewash my picket fence and I'll pay three times (3X) what mmorpg.com pays!!!!

What the heck, just thought I'd throw that out there.  Is mmorpg.com the Tom Sawyer of gaming sites?

"It''s OK... I''m a leaf on the wind! Watch how I soar!"

Well I know that I can say without a shadow of a doubt writing and mod'ing for MMORPG.com is what got me my foot in the door of the industry, and it also didn't hurt me getting a couple reviews posted in the local paper, etc. Granted, if your final goal is to end up doing something outside of the video game industry, there are definitely better places to write for, but IMO any published writing experience is better than no published writing experience. And if you are trying to get into the game industry, it's definitely a step in the right direction.
