alright, i'll bite on this one.

My pet peeve is the gramatical flavor of the week. For a while it was noob/newb/etc, before that it was scrub, lul/lulz/etc seems fairly popular now, and, hands down saying something is "full of win/fail" or is "epic win/fail" is just irritating.

It's each person's experience and they can play and communicate as they see fit. It just puts an image of a mindless sheep in my head when i see those "flavor of the week" statements.

My # 1 pet peeve are players who choose stupid non roleplaying character names.

I am rabid about this and report every single one for GM's to change.

It takes hardly any effort to find a name that fits the genre of the game, isn't using pop culture or popular fiction, isn't a misspelled attempt of obtaining a specific name that is already being used, and isn't some stupid run on phrase, but it really dampens the immersion of the MMOG when I see idiots who purposely pick names that violate the spirit of the genre. If you are one of these people, I hate you.

Yeah, I don't like people with the name "deathkiller" in games like LOTRO and stuff. Though sometimes when I am able to get a presidents name or something I always snag it for fun. Like I have a Character that looks like Ron Paul in LOTRO and his name is Congressman and his surname is Paul.

hehe, it made me giggle. Though I do not play the character at all really, its just a joke XD

Yea I always get that" omg why are you playing this for?!!" reaction when people see me or meet me that I met on games but the worst part about it is that if they had met me in person in the first place they usually don't make such a big deal out of the superficial aspects.  I have no idea where the whole idea that you have to be fat ,lazy, and poor to play games come from anyways but it is really annoying when people expect you to be just because you like games. I think you are correct there are alot of healthy, wealthy, active, and attractive gamers  these days and it is very small minded to think otherwise.

Girls have it worse! Ok well, that's not true for the girls with toon names like "KittyKatGirlxxx"... but for us dignified girls, who DON'T ask for help while mentioning that we also have boobs, it can be difficult. I was in vent once when an officer in my guild accidently miss told guild chat, "Well yea she sounds hot but she probably looks like a troll in real life."    >.<

Although my biggest pet peeve is people who fight about shit where everything can read it. If someone stole your kill, please bad talk his mother in whispers because I really doubt anyone else cares. I also hate people that whine!

I agree we get it alot worse and even worse than that people never believe you when you tell them you are a real girl  born that way and everything, yes our round things are higher.  It is beyond their small minds to think that yes hot chics can like games too. LOL

Not big on the whole voice chat thing. People are always asking someone to repeat something, so you hear the same info over and over. And it leads to mindless side chatter a lot too. And people never sound how their toons should. And it can be really confusing to figure out which voice goes with which toon (especially if all the voices sound the same!)

And when something bad happens your ears pop from all the yelling and screaming!

And I hate characters being named "toon" now. Whats with that? I liked avatar better, but that sounds really old fashioned.

You would think the girl starved gamers would know better. One person comes to mind Morgan Webb.

Now if I could find a gamer - girl, chic, woman, lady, gal, broad, bird, shorty, (I think I will always prefer "gamer-chic" for female gamers) that is over 40 I would be one satisfied customer.

Well, back on topic. The one that always gets me is "kk". Everytime I see that in chat I hear the whiny effeminate voice of somekind of hobbit like dandy that smells of cabbage saying it. That really drives me nutz.

"lol, brb, kk" etc, fine. But shortening down every single damn word pisses me off to the max. Not sure, but lately, as in the past couple years I havn't seen many people at all using "1337". It's a minority nowadays.

Only time a little bit might leak out, is if I'm doing something (say, killing a boss), and need to answer someone quick, they might get a quick "y 1sec".

My biggest pet peeve is people who have retarded pet peeves, sort of like the OP.  Don't get me wrong.  Leet speak is retarded and grown people who talk like that should be ashamed of themselves for both acting like an idiot as well as polluting the gene pool.  But to quit a game because of them?  Well, that's a whole new level of retardedness.

Other pet peeves:

People who whine about RMT and create ignorant opinions of why it is bad for the game economy.  You people don't know squat about economics and I lose IQ every time I see you bitch and moan.  Not to mention that you worry so much about things that have zero effect on you that I want to strangle babies.

People who think raiding is the be all end all of mmos.  If the box on your head that you can't think out of was any smaller you'd be dead.
