I dont know why people act so suprise when it a game cuts. This almost a decade of mmorpgs , no game has shipped with everything done , everyone makes cuts. Conan did it wrong , you bait and switch you tell people what is wrong and you dont release broken game.
Mythic did it right , gave us enough to decide if we want to buy or not. If you bought the CE , then that is just tough luck , you should know nothing in life 100% for sure , and buying a product early without clear information is just dumb anyhow , unless you respect the company brand.
That is like paying for a hooker with a credit card and not knowing if she has all her teeth or stds O.O You shouldnt be buying stuff without knowing the facts , making a blind leap you deserve to get burnt you made a gamble.
I cant believe how many scream DOOOOOOM! over cuts , quote Bon Jovi "If you love me , lie to me"

It's one thing to cut out zones, or trophies, or certain smaller features of gameplay (like sections of the ToK). It is another entirely to cut out core classes, and racial capital cities.

In my opinion, they spent too much time on the minutiae, and not enough on core. Now that they are up against the wall of release, the minutiae is done, and the core got cut. That will cost Mythic, and they know it. It hurts the game's launch, the revenue streams, the hype up until now, the balance of gameplay, and the eventual success of the game.

They ARE NOT, I repeat, ARE NOT cutting features. We still have city seiges. We still have atleast 2 of each archtype on each side. They are going to phase all 4 cities and 4 careers (what they are is pending) a little while after launch. They've even stated it's helped with balance. Let's remember this game is based on Army vs Army, not Career vs Career. If you've got a weak link in the chain...it's going to break. If the Empire knew your BG's were weak...that's what they would go after first. By getting rid of these careers, you are evening out the battlefield and forcing people to have a strategy and use their skills in order to win. With the gimped classes, mindless zergs > skilled players.

Did I say they cut features? Nope. Perhaps you should re-read what I posted, as I was comparing what they did do, with what I think they should have done: cut things like trophies, parts of the ToK, etc. Those non-crucial and non-core things that resulted in a lack of manpower to get classes and racial cities done.

Makes me wonder if reading comprehension is still being taught.

sorry I misread the 'cut' parts.

If you cut the details...all you have is bone. You can live with a temporarily broken arm (I use this example because I actually do have a broken arm =P). But if you're only bone...well you're pretty much dead. So working on the little stuff and having most of the core things in is better than very little detail and more core
