Is it worth it for a PC gamer such as myself to buy a 360? From what I've seen, everything worth playing on the 360 is either out on the PC or eventually comes out on the PC anyways (if not PC first). It seems that the 360 is just a DirectX computer for the poor. And NO, I do not like Halo! So if you're going to suggest I get one to play a FPS, forget it. I'd rather sand the enamel off of my teeth and then chew on ice. It would be much less frustrating. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx All Rights Reversed |

The only things i think our better on the xbox are sports games and fps. So if your not going to play fps's i would say its not worth it for you. |

Tried it for a while and ended up feeling my muscles tense up to the point that I got a throbbing headache. I guess some people can stand FPS with the input sticks, but it drove me bonkers. Thanks for the honest answer! I was thinking of buying one, but I buy things sometimes without thinking. A compulsion I guess. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx All Rights Reversed |

Originally posted by Vendayn I've got a pretty nice computer. Definitely better than what a 360 can do. I just thought there might be something I was missing out on. Like I said, every time I looked at the 360 games at the store it seemed to me that the 360 was just acting like a DirectX gaming computer for the poor. Not anything more than that. That is one thing I respect my Wii for. Never regretted buying that little guy. He was built to be different, and they succeeded. I wish the other console developers would come up with something to make them a different product that is worth the time. Not something that is trying to copy the PC. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx All Rights Reversed |

If you're into action-adventure(GTA, Crackdown, Saints Row, Dead Rising and such), Beat'em up/fighting games or sports games in general, a console is a nice investment. It just feels more natural on a console(Heck, you can't even find a decent beat'em up for the PC). If that's not your kind of thing, you might as well avoid it. Oh, and even though the console itself is fairly cheap, the games are freaking expensive - And generally doesn't last as long as on PC; Multiplayer feels kind of odd, and is on a smaller scale than what you'd find on the PC, and you can't mod your games either. |

Im mostly a PC gamer. But due to the absense of good titles on the PC im getting a xbox 360 today infact. And no, im not getting halo. I hate halo. GTA4 , dmc4, mass effect, are some titles im looking forward to. Especially ff13

Calling it a driectx computer for the poor is kinda stupid. Ive had many friends who could shell out the money for a high end computer but rather just play the 360. imo ill take a controller any day over mouse+keyboard for fps. Even some of the recent rpgs play better with controllers imo. The only online games I play on my computer are mmos and fps that did not port well such as BF2. Otherwise I prefer XBL greatly over anything ive seen a pc title do. Also whats with all the Halo hate? Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time. I'm an all around player. I play PC games (I have a poor pc) and I'm a major Console gamer. An Xbox360 is a great investment. Action, Adventure, Racing, Fighting, Role Playing it's all here. Now we are even getting Final Fantasy XIII. It's a good investment man and with the games coming out this year it will really be worth it. -In memory of Laura "Taera" Genender. Since I've got my HD-TV, 360 and PS3, I haven't played a game on my PC once (it's fairly good, was able to run AC on max settings) and I wouldn't want to go back. I can't describe how much fun we have playing Rock Band on 360 while getting ready (drunk) for the evening! But the other games are worth the purchase, too. MGS4 was worth the entire money for the PS3, even though it was more like a movie than a game :P. I'd say, if you've got a HD-TV, go get a 360. If not, forget it. ;) Sucks when you can't read a damn thing when playing on a normal TV. |

I went and got a DS for similar reasons as i love RPG games and the touch based games like Bubble Bobble, the DS has lots of those.
Oh and it gets lots of Final Fantasy games. Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981 |

Idk i just think that its a little to easy to aim and harder to move on pc shooters. The shooters for the xbox 360 ive liked are halo 3, call of duty 4, battle field bc, and rainbow six vegas was ok. |

Despite what other developers are saying when they make a game console only they ALWAYS end up porting it to PC. Consoles are just money dumps to me. Games are more expensive than PC games, console graphics become outdated in a year with no chance of video upgrades, and its just not worth it considering many of the games are just cloned copies of the others. (Which...PC games are too but to a lesser degree) I had a PS3. I had to return it; didn't like it. I thought about getting an xbox but with a high end PC, it wouldn't have made much sense. |

Biggest reason? You dont have to spend more money on your computer to play the games you like. Personally I can't afford to buy a new computer to run the latest and greatest. I CAN afford an Xbox 360. Also main reason: You can play with other people. It would be nice to play some of the games I have on my PC with other people sitting next to me.

Pulling a trigger and moving with a joy stick > Clicking with your mouse.
EDIT: it just occured to me that you probably suck at aiming with the joystick, thats why you think console FPSs suck ..... you need to practice imo, it takes me a couple days to get used to a new FPS, just because almost all of them operate the same as far as moving and aiming. |

FYI: History of FPS started on keyboard/mouse combo, NOT dual joysticks. If you started playing FPS with keyboard and mouse you will always think this is better. Try playing counter-strike with dual joysticks against a player with a keyboard and mouse. Try it with Team Fortress 2. The BEST keyboard mouse player will always beat the BEST dual analog player. |

i did play doom, it was my first fps. I like consoles more, just due to the fact i like pulling a trigger when i fire my gun, and not pushing down a mouse button. The camera works fine for me, like i said you just need to practice on the dual joystick. I played COD 4 on the pc for about a month and havent played it since. Although i often play rainbow six vegas 2 on my xbox pretty regularly. |

I just thought of another reason: Most of the new * PC / XBOX games can be played with eachother. So if you have 360 and a PC you essentially have 2 xboxes or 2 PC's You can play all those "multiplayer over xbox live only" with any guests /friends/ girlfriends/ *Edit |
