LotR Community,

Hey guys! I started to play this game back when it came out and it had some problems. I've a really good computer that runs anything else fine and definitely met the requirements for this game, but it seemed no matter how much I'd lower the graphics and settings it always seemed to give off a sort of jagged lag spike about every 3-5 minutes. My question is...Was this a problem with the game and other people and is it fixed? I quit WoW yesterday and no not to specifically play this game, I'm just sick of the rinse and repeat steps on WoW, such as level a toon to 70 and then PvP and/or raid, waste time doing dailies, so on and so forth.

Being done with WoW and then looking a lot of pro-LotR forum posts is making feel really good about coming back to LotR. Anyways thanks guys, probably no matter what at least going to have the free one month time to play this game again. Stoney

"Eye for an Eye"

Openedge1 seemed to have the same prblom. Maybe he can give you some insight. My machine is running the game on ultra high and I've not had any problems.

Are you using a pentium cpu ?

Thank you both for replying...

Yes I am using Pentium, which is a 3 or 4 I believe, the thing is because they were just coming out when I got my PC, is that it is not a dual core, but I've 2-3GB of RAM and a Geforce 7800 GTX, I mean I've ran Crysis with little problems too, so I don't know, but thanks guys.

I'll just wait and see when I reinstall it with new patches. I mean I quit within my first free month of purchasing this game, so maybe they've fixed some of the issues.

Better be a 4...and if you run crysis it should be...everything else is good. You might just need to try it and see if the problem has been fixed.

I suggest checking out the official forums.  http://forums.lotro.com

Sounds like the "hitching" problem some people have had.  You can probably find many threads about it over there.

Good luck!

A good advice, defragmenting the client files after an update could help.

defragmenting will help you a ton.   I think openedge's problems were hitching more frequently, 3-5 mins with a small hitch is norm for most mmo's, wow excluded because its not going to push a system very hard.

Also, make sure you have any backround services that are not important turned off.   If you have Antivirus running it will cause a hitch.
