What is this class and why on earth did Mythic think it would cut the mustard. Me and my brother were joking a few months ago thinking about the poor sod who got a job at Mythic only to be told his job is to come up with the skills and mechanics for a class called - Hammerer. Manager: "Welcome to Mythic. I hope you will enjoy your time with us." New Guy: "Thanks. So what is my first assigment?" Manager: "Your job is to design the skills and mechanics of a new dwarf class." New Guy: "Great, I love dwarves. What is the class?" Manager: "Hammerer." New Guy: "What?" Manager: "Hammerer." New Guy: "Hammerer?" Manager: "Yes." New Guy: "What is the class concept?" Manager: "It's a dwarf with a hammer." New Guy: "That's it?" Manager: "Basically, yes. But I am sure you can come up some very interesting skills like Hammer Smash or Hammer Hammering Blow and the likes." New Guy: "Right.... not to be offensive but are the any other available classes?" Manager: "Well if you really insist, you can take over Jake's work. He... eh, left us last week." New Guy: "What class was he working on?" Manager: "Orc Choppa." New Guy: "What's is that?" Manager: "An orc with a big sword. We call it a choppa." ---------------------------------------------------------- A warhammer wielding hammerer in the Warhammer universe is too hammerish for me. Coffee break over, got to get back to work :) --------------------------------------------------------- |

This is a Hammerer: www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp
The professions in WAR aren't just random, they are taken from the tabletop game which has 25 years of development history. |

Its not the class description thats ridiculous, its the name lol.
I mean yea, its correct speech wise, its just really uncreative. Sworder is also proper english, but i mean come on, it doesnt flow off the tongue.

I've always been annoyed by games that use the word "tinkerer" as a profession name. There is already a perfectly good name for this job -- from the Middle Ages, even -- and it is "tinker." "Tinker" is a job; a "tinkerer" is someone who happens to be fiddling with something at the moment. |

To this I say, "What's in a name," and Hammerer is exactly the type of name for a career I'd expect to find in the Warhammer universe. Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity. |

/sarcasm on Hmmm, I just want to put forward a few things for your concideration...
Musketeers, named after the weapon being used in the period... Gladiators, named after the common weapon used by then, the gladius...oh woe, that Russel Crow lost a viewer simply because of "silly names"
And I hope they do not include the following, because they would only serve to alienate you further....
Empire Greatswords Pistoliers Flagellants
Just to mention a few (Orcs are rather similar in their own way in naming) Oh woe is the person that is put off by the honorable and mighty Hammerer!
/sarcasm off
I do wish you enjoy the game |

I like Orc Choppa , cause you could scream on vent for no reason "Get in da Choppa!" there are so many 80s flicks where Arnold Schwarzenegger screams something about a Choppa or Sly does in Rambo it could be a running gag among orcs. Orc Choppa Commander : What happ n ta da goblin? Orc Choppa : I eat n him, him make choppa too many! |
