I''m No Sellout

my analysis. skewed and biased as it is.

http://www.newsweek.com/id/145737

Mccain closes ground on obama. with nothing newsworthy or terribly damaging occuring since the last newsweek poll for obama.

except of course, his shift to the right from his primary position of leftfield bleachers.

this I find to be the most revealing:

"In the new poll, McCain leads Obama among independents 41 percent to 34 percent, with 25 percent favoring neither candidate. In June's NEWSWEEK Poll, Obama bested McCain among independent voters, 48 percent to 36 percent."

in uncertain times like todays economic mess i feel mccain would have a huge advantage. i dont believe people who are unsure of either candidate are willing to pull the lever for change, pull the lever for total uncertainty.

obamas camp needs a new strategy other than this lame McBush thing to court the uncertain voters. i feel the worse the economic position of the country, the harder it will be to vote for obama.with the war fading as a non-issue and the economy in the spotlight, the need for more oil, obama the liberal has a difficult road ahead of him.

perhaps Hillary is sounding better and better...

when do these candidates announce their VP choice?

I thought I heard they announce VP at or after the convention.

I would say Obama is in trouble if McCain is running even, after McCain's dull speaches and all the republicans still not knowing who they are voting for. That being said, I don't put much faith in polls weather I agree or not with them. I wish polls would go away.

You know when a leftest runs out of ideas...it is when they pull out the racist card.

If buying Marijuana supports terrorists, legalize it so we can buy American.

I've been trying to tell you all along that Obama was more centrist, but you just kept spewing all the "socialist" bullshit that O'Reilly preaches to you. Now you all want to say he's flip-flopping from the position you 'thought' he was taking earlier. Of course Obama didn't accentuate these moderate positions during the primary, he was seeking votes from the democratic base. Being intelligent doesn't make you a flip-flopper. The sentence structure remains the same, Obama has just changed which words he chooses to emphasize.

Primary: I will begin a phased withdrawal of troops from Iraq after speaking with the commanders on the ground.

General: I will begin a phased withdrawal of troops in Iraq after speaking with the commanders on the ground.

dailybuzz. i swear this is not a 'vast right wing conspiracy'.

obama has geared toward the general election. he has in fact, moved 'right'. many news sources have said this.

regarding iraq, if that is true he has misled his base of TAKE THEM OUT NOW.  he plainly has said(and left out the generals on the ground part)i in many speeches he wanted to remove the troops from this illegal war blah blah blah.

O.O I wonder what qualifies as Liberal if Obama is centrist?  If you believe Obama is Centrist then I see how you can view McCain as a hard core Conservative.

I don't really think this poll represents independants as much.  Most independants don't like either party doctrines and either vote 3rd party or moderate.  The thing that surprises me is how much a percent Obama actually has.  I would think the majority of the people who would vote Obama would actually be voting 3rd party.

Functionless Art is Simply Tolerated Vandalism...

I don't know if Obama needs a new strategy. Republicans have pissed off people so much in the last 2 years its going to take a while for them to recover. From the looks of it Bush just keeps on truckin' and McCain hasn't really done anything exciting and his balls are safe.

I never said it was. I don't think most republicans care what Obama's stance is, as they will vote for McCain regardless. The same can be said of democrats for Obama. This flip-flopper stuff is for independents. The fact of the matter is Obama has held the same positions and been painted as someone shifting ideals, when actually what has happened is a change in the focus group. Anyone with any social experience knows you cannot communicate to all people with the same method. Changing delivery does not change substance. I can put a product in a box and have a bicyclist bring it to you or have it flown in an by leer jet, it doesn't change what's in the box.

False. He has the same positions he has always had. Most of the people claiming that he's changed positions never bothered to research the specifics of his positions to start with. Others like to report 'flip-flopping' for people like yourself, who readily accept it. I think it's sad that most of the votes cast will be determined by the 30 second sound bites aired on 24 hour news networks. Perhaps some people will actually watch the debates before weighing in.
