Anyone else agree? All current Sci Fi games, (except for Eve Online when you first try it out) SUCK!

Can someone please make a SWG 2 or some Aliens type of Universe Sci Fi. Tabula Rasa could have been good, but t's a joke. It also gets an 8.2 instead of a 4.2 rating on this sellout site.

Huxley looks like some boring Mad Max themed universe, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, wake me up when they announce SWG2 or some other cool space/sci fi mmorpg.

Even a Terminator based universe would be cool.

I would say the only thing to do is reach into your purse and invest what you find  into something much better than current .......... I would really like to Beta test it , can i apply nowwwww.......

I have also been looking for a good Sci-fi MMO to take up all of my time, along side lotro, but sadly there are none : [

Some are in development like crusades, fallen earth and some other ones and they all look pretty good. But I still have my doubts about them : /

I get the feeling that Crusades is just going to be like Dark fall and be vaporware but then again maybe they actually have legit devs and a huge budget.

Tabula Rasa got a new lead dev a couple months back and he actually seems to have some idea as to where they should take Tabula Rasa and you may see some changes to that game really soon, good changes. I've listened to interveiws with him and he seems realistic, he knows we want PUIs so hes trying to get us them. He is trying to add gear that is unique to each class so players get customization, hes adding world bosses known as Nephs or something like that so level 40-50 players have something to do.

I really hope he can turn around Tabula Rasa because I feel that it can be a really great game if the devs actually know where to take it...

I guess we will have to wait and see.

I would love it for another company to buy and remake earth and beyond, by remake i mean just a grapics update, but that was my all time favorite sci-fi mmo and i sure do miss it :(

Stargate Worlds, Jumpgate Evolution, Earthrise are on the horizon.

There was only one game like SWG and I doubt the gaming world will soon see its like in the near future, for better or worse.

Stargate worlds and jumpgate evolution both do not really appeal to me : [

Stargate seems to rely heavily on instances and I am not too big of a fan of instances : /

Think you might be talking about fallen earth? Maybe you havent seen mad max ?

Dude, take that huxley crap and flush it down the toilet, it wont get more than 50k customers. I want a MEGA ScI FI GAME!, The other guy was right, Stargate looks like full of instances, why do people even like instances? Since when did they take over MMo's, get a life.

And by the way, Earth and Beyond was an amazing sci fi game! I remember being addicted to it. A game like that, with a bigger world, and a bit more character movement would be the ultimate, when are these companies going to stop wasting their money on garbage and produce something serious.

95% of current mmo's are a waste of money and suck.

To me, here's the problem right now:

Science fiction is a genre of ideas, not fight sequences and we're not seeing a reflection of that in the MMO scene.

What we're seeing is mostly space opera... And from Barsoom to Star Wars, space opera is actually just a continuation of the fantasy and colonial adventure genres in space. There is so much more to science fiction than space shooters or colonial marines... But it would be a crime to take the worlds and stories of Stanislav Lem, Arthur C. Clarke, Richard Matheson or Philip K. Dick and turn them into a product of the "I smash U!" nonsense the MMORPG genre has sadly become.

I guess what I'm saying is, to do science fiction some justice as a genre (and a sophisticated genre it is), we have to have some MMOs based on settings, cultures, ideas and stories rather than combat. We need some other type of MMO design where a major part of the playerbase does not get to be Wedge Antilles or Private Vasquez.
