I played this game in Beta and its performance was horrible. I look at videos on IGN and youtube that were posted in the last month and I still see a lot of jerking and jitter. Has anyone run this game and had reasonably smooth performance? |

The performance is a lot better then it was but still it's still laggy even with your settings turned to "Highest Performance". Might just be server lag though. To compare, I can run EQ2 on pretty high settings without any problems but I can't with Vanguard. EQ1-DAOC-EVE-CoH-EQ2-WoW-GW-LOTRO-WAR-RIFT-GW2(soon)-D3(soon) |

Still has it's problems like hitching when you first enter the game, crossing chunk lines and entering new area's and major built up area's. The devs have done a good job to solve alot of the performance issue's, but still have a way to go to completely solve it. The game runs smooth for the most part and I'm lucky enough to only experience the above issues for a few seconds at most. |

Well i finally got my new pc put together. 680i, q6600, 4gb 800mhz sli ram, striped 7200rpm hd's and my gt8800. Without overclocking anything, straight out of the boxes i was getting 90-105 fps outside of cities and 25-40fps inside cities. I still experienced a little hitching. I'm thinking i can up the clock on my gpu a bit and probably bring my ram up to around 1000mhz and get to 50-60 fps in cities. Oh and this was on High Quality. The cool thing is i loaded up EQ2 and put it on EXTREME QUALITY.. man Qeynos looks pretty. Barely had a hitch at all too. I hate that game but some of it sure looks nice. |

for me I get better performance in Vanguard then I do in eq2. I don't get any hitching in eq2 but on eq2 I can't play on max quality. In vg I can play on max and I get at least as good an fps as in eq2 and in many cased better and in some cases much better. I do however get some hitching in vg but it is nothing like at release and it is generally a one time event in a new area. Generally it is now a minor inconvenience that I see as being a tradeoff for having no zoning screens. Oh I have a pretty high end system. Intel 2.4ghz quad core, 4gb ram, 8800gtx running with Vista 64. |

Pretty smooth from the comp's side, still some lag issues and a bit of hitching here and there, and the very occasional bizarre and inexplicable slowdown, but mostly well playable (40-50fps on average) on Highest/Ultra settings at 1280x1024, on: E7200 @ 3.8Ghz 4GB RAM MSI 8800GTS 320mb OC Gigabyte GA-P35-3DSL OCZ StealthXStream 600W psu Seagate Barracuda 250G h/d WinXP Pro |

Thanks for the information I gather that burly 64-bit architecture machines are up to the task; I have one of them here so I shall give it a shot. |
