I was hungry....What!

When we get down to the main stream idea.

All of are games that we play are approved by some.

Table of executives.

OR

Some suite behind a leather chair.

Some games pop out…and look like quick cash-in’s for bigger games to launch I see this everywhere.

WHAT Happened TO WHAT GAMER’S WANT

WHAT Happened TO DEPTH

WHAT Happened To Alternate Reality’s

Face it, if you game. You game to leave are current life to enter a new one.

I’m so sick of games being released that are not to par.

And all of you agree.

When we all work. “ Most of us hopefully.”

And spend are money on these traps.

But what makes me really mad is that.

Company’s take us, THERE PLAYERS FOR GRANTED.

And dish us a Pea when we deserve a kings platter.

One Time…just One Time.

I wish that these companies would take the time and money to create something.

Flawless…perfect. The way it should be.

And finally as players get what we deserve from a mmo’

A Real MMORPG.

Share you’re thoughts I know im not the only one.

MMOs aren't created by evil capitalist.  They are created by lazy ass devs with a poor eye for development and a poor drive to be visionaries.  Take Brad McQuaid from Sigil (Vanguard), for example.  He wasn't evil. Just lazy, stupid, and immature.

There are no evil capitalist in the MMO Genre.  One would have to make a GREAT MMO to get as much money as possible from the client base while taking visible advantage of the client base at the same time. You create a crappy mmo, your money will sink. No capitalist, good or evil, will want that.

{ Mod Edit } without capitalism there would be no competition or reason to make a better game than someone else. Because in a socialist regime everyone is paid equally so why work harder for the same pay? You are probably the same type of person that views the oil companies as being evil just because the liberals say they are. Just because a game makes 65million does not mean that is all profit is some big wigs pocket. You have to add in development costs (30m), advertising (10mil), paying employees(10mil), and then boxing (3 mil) leaving like 7 million for this fictional game. That is not including taxes and what not left over. This big wigs the people are all up in arms about are just victims of Americans growing class envy. You want to be rich and make your own games.....then work your ass off because the only thing garrunteed in your life is death.

I am only 24 years old but it scares me at how retarded any liberal or socialist minded person is. I mean really really scares me. Capitalism doesn't ruin gaming monopolies do.

Also the real reason why the MMO market is so bland right now isn't because of capitalistic companies. It is because WoWs success was a double edged sword. It did so well that now everyone is trying to emulate it to make money like WoW. It happens in almost any industry. It will take someone with a lot of balls to revolutionize the MMO genre and a lot of failures will happen before that. I look for 2010 to be the year things change for the better. Until then its just gonna be WoW and its clones.

I dunno.  I think Vanguard might have been good if Brad had helped to develop it.  I've read a lot of the stories that came out of ex-Sigil employees.  Most of the design choices seem to have been made by a few other guys.  They say Brad spent most of his time hyping the product and getting investment.  The fact that Sigil didn't shut down completely after MS dropped it is testament to his at least partial success in that.  He also managed to keep Vanguard alive by throwing it to SOE.  Some people might hate SOE, but lets be honest.  Who else would have taken Vanguard in the condition it was in then?

Then again, all that might be indicative of what the OP is talking about, anyway.  Somewhere along the line, Sigil's management utterly failed.  The middle management was incompetent.  The upper management had no idea how bad it was in the middle.  From what I read of the Vanguard dev blogs, nearly the entirety of what we saw at launch was done only in the last two years of development.  Most of the time before that was wasted.

But anyway, the financial motive is as good a motive as any to make a MMORPG.  You must, of course, couple that with creative drive, but that's not hard to do when you have an industry that organically nurtures talent.  I think nearly all devs love making games, and that's why, if you put them in the right environment with sufficient resources and good leadership, you usually get something good.  I mean, capitalism is not mutually exclusive with human creativity.  If anything, though it can stifle creativity at times, it is far more supportive of it than any other system.

I was hungry....What!

One fact is i'm not retarded.  any kind of business is ran by some one high up. Owner ETC. Just like any other business.

And capitalism isn’t always a good thing. Greed, Power.

And Besides, That Wasn’t even the point.

THE POINT was to say

Do You Feel Fairly Treated as a player. I know I don’t

It used to be about making a quality game that the devs were passionate about. Lately it feels like it's all about the money.
