If I wanted to live in the 80s with text adventures, I'd use my imagination to think back to a time when I did.  But now, I'd rather play Crysis, MGS or Devil May Cry 4 or Spore.   I'm not sick of my nice, shiny new cars with GPS, integrated seat betls, rear view cams, better styling, fit and finish, ect.   I have no interest in driving an old Corolla or 3 speed, station wagon with an 8 track &  woodie sides, which is pretty much all a MUD is...an old relic that doesn't compare to todays entertainment.  Theres a reason I own a $2000 computer, PS3 and Xbox360...its not to play text adventures.

Having an imagination has nothing to do with it...its called outgrowing something that entertained you 20 yrs ago.  My Atiari 2600 just doesn't keep my interest now quite like when I was 8.  Can you blame me?

Well, I voted for 'played for a week' but honestly I played them for longer than that.

I can't play most of the normal muds. My roleplaying back in the day was in the old Ultima Online when it had first came out, as well as a couple other games.

However, I have played a few Battletech MUDs and MUXs, simply because there aren't any new battletech/mechwarrior games out there, and nobody plays the old tabletop game anymore... well, not in my area anyway.

So yes, I do play Muds, but only for a game that holds more memories for me than anything else. And sure it is fun. But the problem is, even the Battletech mud I've played before doesn't have many people at all... It's hard to get into combat and roleplaying scenarios because of that. Lack of people.

Oh well. Guess I'll be stuck in memory lane until someone makes a new B-Tech game...

The doll would surely say, "I do not want to be human!" although her master wants her to be even more.

lol does anyone else notice the irony? His Xfire says hes playing Anarachy online and runescape(not bashing the games, just saying they arent muds). Why praise MUDs when you are playing games that are "Spoon-feeding imagination"?
