Time flies like an arrow.

According to simple logic WAR is destined to become everyones next favourite MMO.

Here is why:

A couple of months ago all the fuzz was about AoC vs WAR.

Which I, here and now, interpret as: Player X will play either A or B.

A = AoC
B= WAR

Now it has become clear that A is not everyones new favourite MMO.

Player X will NOT play A.

Therefore: Player X will play B.

Tada!

After all is said and done, a lot more will be said than done.

Sum it up when both games are out, and AoC is further along with its fixes.

Option B might not be everyones fav mmo either. Especially with Punkbuster... wait for the topic titles.

"In EVE, no one gives a damn about a fair fight." - chafin

By years end we may have more choices to play, AION, CoS, SGW and of course, WAR to name a few.

If today's announcement is the only reduction, I can't see it really hurting the game.  But if the feature loss happens again, expect a serious backlash.

People will play both and decide which they prefer. The releases are far enough apart that I think thats how it will play out for most people. If they were released simultaneously, it might have been a question of one or the other. But with several months in between, I don't think thats as much an issue.

Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence.

Actually, there are entire guilds up in arms over this. I know of one that is voting this weekend on whether or not they're going to continue waiting for Warhammer. And this is a guild that's been accepted into the guild beta.

You kill the Joe, you make some moe

I love the logic in this thread :p

Im not in beta, but ive heard others while playing various games saying that WAR isn't shaping up to what they expected so far. The games not released yet though, and maybe they just didn't like it personally, its hard to say since im not in beta but it sounds like their are plenty of people who arent happy with its state.

We haven't had a good launch of any new mmo's lately since WoW, AoC obviously didn't meet its demands, Vanguard..nuff said *game is getting better tho* Lotro did alright but it wasnt sky rocketing, I cant recall them all right now but it just seems hard to expect WAR to flight out of the clear blue and break the mold.

Heh, I thought I would get flamed big time for being slightly provocative when, as some of you mentioned, ruling out other alternatives.

Personally I have allied with the small minority (compared to the WAR followers) who are keeping an eye on Aion but what would the world look like without generalizations eh.

@ DragonShark
Do you know what their alternative is? Go back to WoW?

Part of the WAR followers used to, according to my reasoning, be AoC fans. The question is where will all of these people go if Wolfenpride is right and WAR fails...
