Me Myself and I all think EQ2 had the best Crafting System around until it was cut to pieces. If the Crafting is to hard then let someone else do it. Cutting crafting is like taking Graphics away from Candy lovers. EQ, Horizons, EQ2, SWG, WoW, Vanguard. Some still have great Crafting but have been dumbed down so much that it's better to just collect now. /sigh. I want EQ as a Single player but with all the Goodies before PoK. Hell i will take all the SOE games and Horizones as single Player games as long as thay have the Crafting in them........I just miss the Good Old days................ |

I always thought FFXI had a pretty good crafting model... not the most realistic with it's crystals - but it definitely forced you to make a significant investment in time and money if you wanted to be a good crafter. |

I did try it back a while ago but i found that materials were more expensive than the final product. Was nothing to see people buying things off the NPC and putting them on the AH for double the price. Dark and Light had a Great System to, BUT we all know to much now and well it's better to Cheat than to do it the Developers way. Lets combine EQ, EQ2, Vanguard, SWG, Horizons. and put em in a BOX. Ship it as a Single player ..... :)

Out of Everquest 1 &2, Istaria (Horizons), WoW, DAoC, and Eve Online I would vote for Istaria. City of Heroes/ Villains also had an interesting variant of the crafting paradigm with its enhancement sets. No skill needed to be learned to apply the enhancements, but you still needed to plan ahead to get the best bonuses. |

EvE i have left out because i have only Tried it on a Tutorial base (Awesome Game) but it's PvP and that is what holds from buying it. It seems most Online Games now are PvP, No crafting at all, well thay call it ctafting but it's more Combine items to existing (Armor, Weapons ect). Not for me thanks.... Crafting is very hard to find in Single Player games.

A Tale in the Desert, really bad graphics now but it's crafting has been really the only crafting I've enjoyed. |

From what I have played and that is quite a few from UO in 98 to AoC. UO was the greatest to date, Horizons was good, LOTRO is also good. I never played SWG but always hear is was also very good. |
