Well I hadn't seen it yet so thanks for posting it.  It was a great clip!  One of several games I'm keeping my eye on.  I'm really hoping they don't turn it into yet another Asian Grind.

Seriously, what was your point in changing my text?  I have absolutely no control over what they make the game to be.  I'm no developer, I'm just a player.  It's up to the developer to give depth to the game.  Can I help it if the previous asian-based MMO's have been lacking in the entertainment department of their games?  It may work fine in their home markets, but they have failed time and again when trying to market to other regions because of the grind.

If you have something to say, I suggest you find a better means of doing so next time.

Heh okay then. I guess I could have been more clear.

My point was that the only person who can make this game a grinder for you is yourself. You say that you have no control over what the game will be like. Imo that point of view totally contradicts every aspect of what an MMO should provide. It is us, the players, who are in control of what we do when we are in game. I'm so sick of players who want's to be spoonfed with what to make of their gaming-experience. It's just like people who say RP is dead. Have they actually tried to engage in an RP-conversation? I think not. But that's another topic. In fact none of this has to with the video that the OP posted about but when I saw your post I couldn't hold myself from posting.

I will agree the players do have a certain level of responsibility when it comes to the enjoyment of a game.  However, you have to admit the asian games that have tried to cross over to the North American market haven't taken into consideration the differences in the playstyles between the regions. 

I'm not looking to be spoonfed anything in a game and I am all for an open-ended style.  Still, a developer needs to be careful and ensure there is something to do in the game besides go kill X number of Y mob to get another level.  It gets boring entirely too fast and that ends in them losing subscriptions.  That is what I meant by them making it another Asian Grind.

It's the developer's job to not only create the world, but to also fill it with interesting things to do that will keep the players hooked for a long time.  It is our job to play it to the hilt and, if we're lucky, take what the developers started to another level.

As far as roleplaying being dead, you're right.  It is a whole other discussion.  Be glad to discuss it in PM's with you if you like, though.  :)

Without testing, the only thing you can say about a game is what devs tell you, or what you hear from people who tried the game, there haven't been many AAA titles from Korea, only L2, and that was almost 5 years ago.

Aion is getting good things out of no having enforced NDA, the game looks gorgeous, massive, and funny, hundreds of videos in youtube to check out by yourselves, tons and tons of information in fansites, and right now, the only worrying thing about the game, being in beta, are balancing issues, that's the only complain people have about the game right now, Asmodians being a bit more powerful than Elyos...looks easy to solve for NCsoft.

Right now beta testers (Swedish, Russians or Koreans) state aion is not a grinder, devs state aion isn't a grinder, korean websites state Aion isn't a grinder...That's all we have until we can test it by ourselves, keeping an open mind about this one might end up better than expected ^^

I am honestly, SO GLAD, That I will not see players like you in Aion.
It would just hurt the community to have someone like you play the game.

 so there is a hope now for more RP and "grown-ass man conduct" in this game 8) and  lady's behavior too ofc ;)

me too im glad AOC and its boobs came out this year hopefuly all the kids will still be their and stay well away from Aion.

I think its resemblance to Lineage will keep em away anyway the kids want instant gratification ala WOW AOC etc and arent prepared to put any effort in for anything so hopefully this will also make them stay away
