Ahhh, Carly Fiorina, grandstanding for personal gain. Is there nobody in McCain's campaign willing to do the best thing for John? It's not like McCain is good on camera anyway. They are only making him look more like a senile old guy when he's confronted with these issues -and his previous votes. I wonder if Carly is still on the 'short list'.

I dont think the Federal Government has the right to tell a private business what they should and should not cover.  The consumers have more power then they think, dont need to go running to the federal government to fix evey little thing. 

And MSNBC is anything but a fair and balance news group.

I don't watch MSNBC, in my opinion they are no better than Fox News. However, aside from the commentary setting up the clip, this is John McCain stammering for an answer to a serious question. If McCain shared your view about the federal government not getting involved in personal policy, he should have said so outright. Instead he took a few seconds to think about who in his campaign might have some solid advice on how to answer this question.

John McCain's vote was against requiring coverage for birth control. Carly Fiorina (a McCain surrogate) is in opposition to that. But the bigger issue is that she is voicing her personal policy on McCain's dime. If she wants to campaign for McCain, she should know his positions and leave personal politics aside when at a microphone. If she thinks this compromises her personal integrity, she should run for office herself.

As for the power of consumers, they have been going at it with insurance companies for as long as insurance has been around. Only high powered lawyers willing to sacrifice time and money on class action suits can gain any ground with insurance companies. What do you expect people to do, stop buying health insurance until they are offered the coverage they want? It's not exactly like a cable TV service, where you're demanding Comedy Central.

Thats why admire McCain, he has the balls to go live on an issue he totally isn't prepared to answer.  He has also been doing alot of town hall meetings letting nearly everyone in except people with signs.  What kind of things have we gotten out of Obama?  Kids asking why Obama is so awesome?  He hasn't been put in a tough position unless he has had a day to forumulate an answer.

Personally, I believe health insurance companies should not be required by law to cover any type of medication.  Its suppose to be how that whole capitalism thing works.  Health insurance competes for insuries, and to do so they offer better packages or packages that cover certain expenses.  Like why should I pay extra for a package that covers birth control when I am a man?  Its not like women are forced to chose health insurance that doesn't cover birth control.  They should shop around.

Okay, so an employee can use corporate subsidized health coverage through their employer's provider for $300 per month. Or they have a choice to go with non-subsidized, independent coverage, and pay $600 per month. What kind of choice is that? Birth control doesn't cost $300 per month. Although it does cost more than some women can afford.

And it doesn't take balls to go on TV and not answer a question.

Why doesn't Obama stammer like this when he's confronted? Because he has an answer prepared ahead of time. He knows where he stands without asking his campaign advisors.
