and why I left it for those glancing over looking for a new game.

TLDR:  WoW sucks. look elsewhere

1.  Battlegrounds - be prepared to spend most of your life in here if you even want to try and compete.  There's a massive world that goes ignored while 90% of players are in here lookin for gear.

2.  Arenas - A failed attempt at an Electronic sport.  Even most players hate it.  Blizzard won't give it up so it's left as the major focus of the game.  Forget raiding Orgrimmar or Stormwind! hop in this cage for endless hours.

3.  The world is a lie.

4.  You either PvP or PvE, there's no in between.  The gear you get in pve won't help you in pvp and vice versa.  At one point you could do group dungeons and pvp and both aspects were rewarded.  not anymore.

5.  There's just no meaningful endgame.  It's just running a treadmill for gear show and tell.

6.  Easily the worst community of any game I or you will ever play.  Yes I can't predict the future, but I can safely say a community couldn't get worse.  I'm talking to all you "leet kiddies"  "nooblars" "noobs" "L2play"  If you ever venture to the WoW forums or even only in a city you'll see what I mean.  Any question or post is usually met with,

LOL L2play noob, The parroted: Blizzard 10 million customers noboday cares lolz (which explains their pathetic customer service as well)"you just ain't leet in arenaz its for da skilled"

Thanks for reading.  You'd thank me if you only knew.

Edit:  Apparently some of the mouthbreathers responding to this are taking this as law.  Well I'm flattered, but this is just my opinion on the game much like everyone has an opinion.  I don't need you to tell me it's my opiniont.  I realize that.  Thanks

Live and Learn.. Then Die and forget it all.

I think you like it more then you let on since you come all the way to the WoW forum just to post about a game you supposedly hate, yep makes sense to me.

As long as your enjoying the game and having fun, then thats all that matters.

I used to like it a lot.  I'm informing the MMO scanners of what it is now.

No refutes tho I see.

"A world which has to create its own justice is a world without hope."

My main reason for disliking WoW is the very slow development and progress of the game.  Don't get me wrong, i like refined updates and hate buggy ones, but Blizzard has always been notoriously known for taking too long with patches and upgrades.

Only 4 BGs in about 4 years is depressing.

Hmm, I manage to have a full brutal set and a nice PvE setup (Tier 6) while only playing for around two hours a day on average, I actually enjoy arena, and spend no time in battlegrounds.

But hey, maybe that's because I know what I'm doing.

More likely you're a Rogue.

I'm sick of WOW's craptastic pvp. I can't wait for the DAoC Server to open.

You'd be whining if there weren't any BGs at all, so it's kind of a lose-lose for Blizzard (or any developer for that matter). Nothing is ever good enough for you people. Either they don't have battlegrounds and people cry about not having things to do, or they have battlegrounds and people cry that they aren't good enough.

2.  Arenas - A failed attempt at an Electronic sport.  Even most players hate it.  Blizzard won't give it up so it's left as the major focus of the game.  Forget raiding Orgrimmar or Stormwind! hop in this cage for endless hours.

How is it a "failed attempt"? "Even most players hate it"? I feel as if you're being a little bit dramatic. It's not like you CAN'T raid Orgrimmar or Stormwind, there is just no point in it.

3.  The world is a lie.

It's a video game. Hell, what does this point even prove?

4.  You either PvP or PvE, there's no in between.  The gear you get in pve won't help you in pvp and vice versa.  At one point you could do group dungeons and pvp and both aspects were rewarded.  not anymore.

Wah, sack up and do PvE and PvP.

5.  There's just no meaningful endgame.

Of course there's nothing meaningful - it's a video game. If you're looking for some sort of fulfillment, you probably won't find it in ANY MMO.

Thanks for reading.  You'd thank me if you only knew.

Nope.

Honestly, I can say I somewhat agree with the OP.

As much as I have played WoW, and enjoy it at times, most of what the OP said was on point, but really if you don't enjoy it.. at all, then just leave it be and move on.

I agree about battlegrounds to an extent. When they first were added I loved them. Now years after doing the same battlegrounds, they lost their spark. And it is kind of frustrating how all the world pvp, which is honestly the reason why I got started in MMOs years ago, completely diminished and evaporated for the most part. It is sad that the world is completely neglected for the most part.

Arenas.. are a gift and a curse at the same time. It opens the door for the "e-Athletes" to move in and have something else to compete in that is pretty popular right now. I also enjoy doing arenas, but I enjoy doing arenas with my brother. I've been on a few more competitive teams and that's when it turns into BLAGH. But I enjoyed pubbing in CS, and absolutely hated competitive play, which is what arenas are. What sucks is to get top-notch gear you have to do them and reap the old stuff through honor -- that part I can't stand.

And honestly, I did prefer the days when I could PVP in my PVE gear. That was great. But I can understand why they would split the gear, however, it is overly time consuming to have to get two sets of gear, more if you play off-specs from time to time, and then having to spend the money to enchant and gem it. But honestly, can you think of a better way to implement it? The only other alternative would be to remove it and revert to how it was, which then even more people would QQ.

It is a lose/lose for Blizzard in alot of ways.

I enjoy the game. I hate the time spent having to get gear and regear and regear and regear. That's my turnoff to Warcraft. What keeps me is I find the gameplay solid to my liking, whether or not I think arenas suck or battlegrounds bore me to death, the combat inside of them is still pretty solid, so it holds it all together. But turning in an MMORPG to e-Sport is kinda meh.

- More Bgs because 4 isn't enough.

- you should gain experience from bgs. I love battlegrounds if i could lvl from lvl 20-70 just playing battlegrounds i would do it.

- make more battlegrounds available to the lower lvls like lvl 20. AV is awesome but waiting to lvl 50 is ridiculous.
