I'm looking at getting my wife a new laptop, and would like to know if there is one out there that is playing VG on a laptop?  The price range she is  trying to keep me in all I can find have 8600's in them. I know its a decent card, but was just wondering what kind a performance the 8600 has with VG ( with a sufficient cpu & memory)

I am not sure what price range you are looking in but Gateway has pretty nice laptop through Best Buy.  It is $1199.  This laptop has a 512 8800gts video card and 4gigs of ram.  It runs Vanguard very well.  Its the P-6860-fx.
