This Agreement ("Agreement") is made by and between MindArk PE AB (publ) ("MindArk"), a Swedish corporation having it's principle place of business at Jarntorget 8, SE-41304 Gothenburg, Sweden, and the Participant ("Participant" and/or "You") who wishes to use the Entropia Universe.

By accepting this Agreement, the Participant agrees to it in its entirety, effective immediately.

In consideration of the promises set forth herein, the parties hereto agree as follows:

1. Arrangement
This Agreement is a legal document that details your rights and obligations as an Entropia Universe Participant, entitled to a Participant account, and access to use certain MindArk services. You cannot become an Entropia Universe Participant until you have accepted the terms of this Agreement. You hereby acknowledge that your use of the Entropia Universe constitutes your acceptance of this Agreement.

MindArk agrees to provide the Entropia Universe "as is" to the Participant. All use of the Entropia Universe is only allowed according to the terms and conditions set forth herein. All use not in accordance with this Agreement is specifically forbidden.

Thanks for the reply.

The most obvious answer is always in front of you they say.

Its just i dont think entropia should be on a site with games, having played it i know what its really about and to me seeing eu on mmorpg is like seeing ebay or 888.com here.Entropia is a gambling client for people with high or expendable income,im not saying its not fun and i have met some great people there, its just eu has a very very dark side using repetitive clicks, actions and gambling to keep their customers hooked, and once you have been playing for so long you feel you can't leave because you have invested alot of non returnable money into it.

the game has been around long enough for mmorpg.com to know whats its like and a quick trip to entropia form would show you that hype is nurfed by community projects yet its still here.

I've snipped a bit off the front because this is the one part I want to question.  You use the terms "invested" and "non-returnable" money, and yet you say you have played the game.  If you have played you will know that you can sell everything in the game, weapons, armour, clothes any loooted stuff and withdraw that money from the game into your real world bank account.

Now i'm not saying that all money you deposit into the game will be recovered if you do decide to quit and withdraw but to say that all money "invested" is non-returnable is patently not correct.

Also, for the many people who are running successful businesses in-game I would suggest they are gambling only as much as people who run businesses in the high street.  If anything with the set rate of business tax (shop rent and tax) not being buggered about with by the government (Mindark) but set at 1 constant rate it's steadier than running a "real" world business.

I would say its a cross between an mmorpg and an online casino.  Not for me, but great for those who like to fork over money with the possibility of hitting a jackpot.

More of a casino where the house always wins no matter what. It is true this isn't a game just a casino dressed alien forms.

How is the highlighted any different from other mmorpgs?  One of the problems EU players face is their own description of the money they pay.  I have never considered the money I pay to play one of these games to be an investment.  Neither should you.
