Hello, I'm considering switching "back" to lotro. I've played the game for a couple of days during "the pre-order play thingie". |

You can probably run it on medium settings, mostly because of the graphics card...everything else is good though. I ran it on 1 gig of RAM and an integrated INTEL card on medium-low on my old comp. so for having such good graphics I was surprised. I'd just detect the optimal settings under graphics options once you get in the game. The servers are populated, Brandywine is at least but Landroval too I think. -------------------------------------- Order of the White Border. |

I run mine on high and some very high res client. I get 30-35fps mostly. I have somethings turned down but most are at that high very high setting. I have a 2.8ghz Pentium D 2gig RAM 256MB Geforce 6800 OC a bit So you should have no problem.
There are plenty of people playing this game don't worry. And with the great expansion coming there will be a ton more.
Edit: XP...oh and I run at 1024x768. SHould probably turn some stuff down and run it higher though. maybe I will Edit: Its a bit laggy in high areas like Bree but turning off floaty names helps alot ****************************** |

I played on a 2gig laptop with a 7600Go (256M RAM) and a 2.3 Core Duo with more than half the settings on high, post-processing effects turned off, @ 1440 x 900 at around 20-30FPS.
The biggest difference I see is that you have Vista and I had XP. You should be good to go, though. |

LOTRO is one of the best running and looking MMOs available. I have a 256mb 7800GTX, 3.2 Pentium D dual core, 2 gigs RAM - therefore nothing spectacular, a mid(ish) range pc nowerdays. And I run it on full high at a very steady smooth framerate.
You should have no problems :) Welcome back. |

Vista really loves memory and prices on RAM are extremely low. I would recommend bumping your system memory up to 4 gigs. Operating Vista and LOTRO requires almost exactly 2 gigs of memory, so if you run anything else you very likely will be using virtual memory from the hard drive, which is bad.

Thx for your replies, i'm currently downloading the free trial to see how it will run before actually purchasing the full game. |

I'm also in the process of getting the LotrO trial... I was in the beta and at the time my system was barely scraping along.. I've since upgraded too, 3.0, 2gb ram, Radeon 3850 512mb.. so I'm in much better shape now than I was back then.. secondarily I've pretty much had my fill of WoW.. I've not logged in since.. March... or something like that, just cause the level cap is such a dead end if you don't Raid or PVP. I think it's time to at least explore a new world. If my wife likes it she may want to pick it up too.

wow thanks a lot I do appreciate it.. but if you think you may need it or anything then by all means use it for what you need. my wife's a good bit pickier than I am about games (and I can be pretty picky) and the first thing she'll want to see is character/world visual appeal and is the gameplay fairly straightforward but fun. >_> <_< ^_^ |
