Seriously.  I mean,  why do people expect you to answer your cell phone immediately.  Has anyone ever said to you: "why have a cell phone at all if you're not going to answer it." And why isn't it good enough to call back in the next day or so.

What I need to figure out is how to get someone off the phone quicker. Besides hanging up on them. Maybe that's the only way.

If I don't answer my phone (which is often) and the person doesn't leave a message, I don't feel it is important enough for me to call them back.

I pretty much agree with this view.

Also if you want to end a conversation fast one way i do it is i just say that i need to go now if there isnat anything else have a nice day.

Another way is to ask them if they ahve anything important to pass along just text it so i can read it later.

This EXACTLY one of the reasons I refuse to get a cell phone.

I don't care if I seem ancient or archaic.  I am not someone on a leash and if I want to be unavailable I don't feel like I need to make an excuse for it.

My employer insisted that I get one, and I stood my ground.  I'm just not going to do it.

Besides that, there is some evidence that they aren't good for you.  Whether it's true or not, I really don't want to take the risk.  The evidence I've read is somewhat compelling.

Most - not all - mobile phone users annoy me. Constant jabbering is annoying. I also do not like being bothered all the time.

Mine is constantly on silent, pretty much used for outgoing calls only.

I agree- the constant talking all over the place is so damn annoying.  If I could somehow log into my friend's Vent server from my phone and broadcast his raids on speaker while sitting next to a cell phone addict, I wonder if that would get my point across.

It looks like I'm the exact opposite of all of you.  Basically I don't know what I'd do without my cell phone.

Don't get me wrong, it can be annoying at times -- I was required to have one for work so I've got e-mails, texts and calls coming through at all hours all day. 

Yeah, I hate the 2 AM e-mails that sometimes wake me up, and I hate seeing a number from a client and I just KNOW I have to answer it RIGHT NOW, but it's also very liberating.  I don't have to be stuck in the office reading e-mails during work hours all the time,  I'm always connected in case of an emergency (which happens alot in my business), It gives me something to do while I'm in the car   --- plus I don't have to be at home to check the weather, movie times, or directions.

I will say though when I started this new job they expected me to carry a company phone as well as my personal... that was 2 CELL PHONES.. that was alittle too much... so I junked the work phone and upgraded my personal.

Also other cell users that aren't me are pretty annoying. .. ya.. I said it.
