Here's another thread on the topic: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/2120008#2120008 Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands? ~Ernest Gaines |

The Trial Island is going to be a HUGE thing. People have been screaming for a trial since the game came out. Now with the trial finally on its way we will also are treated with new character models and character animations coming in the future. It's a Jeep thing. . .

Actually they seem pretty far from correcting the majority of bugs I've seen since beta. I can't believe how many issues are still present after all this time. (I went in to this in more detail in another post so I'm not going to repeat it all). Someone mentioned to me in-game that two patches ago was supposed to fix most of the problems, but then the latest patch brought all the bugs back again. So I'm a little doubtful GU6 will be up to the hype personally and just hope SOE can pull VG together soon. It has a great foundation to be an impressive MMO, but the detail beyond that is just a mess and I fail to see much progress yet. If anyone can do it though, I'm sure SOE can with the way they really turned EQ2 around for the better since release. It's also amazing to me how much of the community just wants anyone that has an issue or complaint to leave the game or shut up. I've never been vocal about my issues in-game, but the few that are get seriously attacked rather then assisted. If you Vanguard fans want a decent community and have your game grow through subscriber base and support for SOE, that is no way to do it. I've never seen such a rude fanboi-like community as the one in this game, and I thought I saw the worst from barrens chat in WoW or the many trollers on these boards. |

I cant believe that you think that a majority of the bugs that where around in Beta are still there. My God, people are coming on these forums and just about everyone one of them gives there impressions of the game good or bad, but every one of them states that the game was unplayable for them when the game was released and that now the game is very stable. I read your other thread. You did not like some of the rendering and the quests are shallow. Do you still crash to desktop? run oout of memory? Are there game stopping bugs? I would say that since the game was released the devlopers have probably spent 2/3 of their time fixing that "foundation" that you admit you like.

I never crashed to desktop until the last patch, however using the auto-login still crashes me out instantly back since beta. My memory issues haven't happened since the last couple patches just prior to release. At the moment, the game hitches considerably in some places and especially when crossing chunks, even though somehow many people say that's no longer an issue for them. Their last major patch at the end of beta fixed a large number of serious issues, but honestly I don't see anything fixed since then without going to read the patch notes on things I never even encountered. The Kojani side is especially a mess, but that and Thestra are the only two continents I've spent much time on so far. The many bugged Jin quests exiting Dallerjuba Village should have been fixed a long time ago. They can't even fix the quest that frequently breaks not allowing you to complete choosing the Lao'Jin or Ra'Jin side? Or the quest on the starter island where you talk to the Master monk and he is supposed to teleport you away but frequently just gets you stuck in the last part of the dialogue with no port? I would think quests that can't be completed in a starter village for every new player to see would be the first on their list to fix. Then I get constant issues preventing me from changing professions in crafting (i.e. Choose Outfitter, and you won't get any dialogue from the Artificer trainers if you want to switch - only the Blacksmith trainer will talk to you). Unfortunately many of the player conversations I read in the starter villages were looking for workarounds to quest/mob issues proving I was far from the only one. |
