DOS 6.22 - fuzzy memories...

Hi. More than a year ago I gave EQ2 a try using the trial. I played a while (loved the fishing) but didn't like it.  Now that I'm trying Legends of Norrath to get ready for the SWG CCG (Champions of the Force), I'm growing interested in EQ2 again. But I'd like to see the real world, not get stuck on a newbie isle...

I remember now I downloaded only the Trial of the Isle (or something), not the entire game, but what I'd really like to see is the real world of EQ2... Is there anyway to do it? Perhaps not with a trial but with one of those buddy keys??

And does anyone know if the "pending" status of the trial I had from EQ2 on my Account means that I could play the trial of the isle again for some days (I don't want to download it all again just to have the client tell me I have to subscribe the game...)?

Thanks!

Tried: MxO, FFXI, TR, D&DO, EQ1, Archlord
Played: CoX, GW, DR, AO, SWG, EQ2
Playing: WoW-BC
To be played: AC, DAoC, Planetside, Mabinogi, EVE, PotBS, AoC, Vanguard, Ryzom

With the Living Legacy program that is currently running until the end of July (I think) if you previously played the trial you should be given full access to all expansions (big download.) Try to log in and it should start downloading a lot of stuff - you can then play the full game until the end of the program and if you end up subscribing, you get to keep all the expansions!

Great... looks like I just wasted 40 euros on two rise of kunark packs (one for me and one for my wife) when I could have just got them for free if I just logged in with my old account???

Damn it! :(

Yeah I know the feeling, I came extremely close to doing the same thing for Everquest 1 before I learned of this program. Maybe there's some way you can return them or sell them to someone else?

I feel your pain -  the same happened with me and my girlfriend when I bought City of Villains for her (we already had City of Heroes) and two days later the Good versus Evil became available for us...

You should definitely contact SOE customer service of some sort to see if they will give you a refund for the exp packs.  That's quite a bit of money to spend on something that was already active on your accounts.  They shouldn't charge you for the expansion just because you weren't aware of the promotion that is currently going on.

It would be really difficult for them to refuse you a refund, imo.  If they did, that's pretty shady of them.

Lol, I played for only 3 hours and 5 minutes when I first trialed EQ2! I do believe what everybody loves in EQ2 must be outside the trial island... In 13h I'll know...

Yeah to be honest the trial islands aren't all that great anymore - they used to be, but the new starting areas like Gorowyn and Darklight Woods are so much better they look bad in comparison.
