If it really is alive and kicking then I’m happy to be proven wrong.

We have to remember though that there are still a substantial proportion of the community here, on the official boards and else where that dismiss everything we say or don’t accept it at all, so for them at least anything we say is still considered of little or no significance.

I keep thinking maybe Tasos will release that comprehensive game play video today after all it is update Friday, and everything I’ve said is wrong and this game definitely is feature complete and will start public beta soon and will successfully release sometime this year but it just seems increasingly unlikely at this stage in my opinion.

no it's just that any logical person could look at the sum total of evidence for darkfall being a real game that's clearly coming out soon and have no doubt it's the real deal.

maybe it won't play that great, who knows. but a real game? you'd have to seriously be a true moron to think the entire game was a sham.

so what if they change their mind about release dates - i seriously couldn't care. it's done when it's done, get over it.

I look at the evidence and I'm not sure I can confidently state that Darkfall definitely "is clearly coming out soon", or if its "the real deal" becuase we have seen so little of it.

Iv'e never said its not a real game, It's obvious its some type of game, but  exactly what that game is still remains to be seen in my opinion, of course i might not be a logical person so ignore me.

I dont care if you dont care, i care if the developers care if you know what i mean.

I dont know exactly what will happen if the developers "change their mind" about release dates , but i do know its probebly not going to be good for the company or the community.

Again noone is proving anything about the release of this game

i'm not a fanboy or a troll. i simply do not know if darkfall will be released or not. the devs have stated 2008. it's going to be damn entertaining to see what unfolds here and in forumfall with each day that passes with no beta or release. forumfall will be boiling over in frustration if winter approaches with no beta. those with weak faith will be weeded out in the few upcoming months. it'll be interesting to see who has absolute faith in darkfall til the very end...

in the meantime...the final battle between fanboy and troll. it'll be like five times the size of that battle in the lord of the rings. hell, maybe even ten times the size of that battle.

As I have said, this is not necessarily the final battle, I think its more of a romantic slow dance with Tasos myself, but does he really love us or will he brake are hearts?

Very true, however NO developers can prove they have a game pre-beta. So this is no different then anyone else

Eventually if they dont come out with a Beta than no one is going to follow the game anymore. And that's probably going to end up happening this year.

If they don't at the very least have a beta with people from the pubic in it this year then they might as well close up shop because they will have loat ALL credibiltiy atthat point. Even with their fanbois.

Look at the official community boards front page, looks like it did this time in 2007,2006,2005,2004 and 2003, it does not reflect the discussion on this forum (becuase we are all troll haters).

It’s full of hopes, dreams and wishes, positive and optimistic speculation and assumption, most of the people posting now, where not even members last year, and the same cycle has been repeated every year, and it will continue indefinitely.

It’s a faith based community like a religion, they are not interested in empirical evidence or its distinct lack.

Beta and release might be happening “soon”, but every time they have not over the years, the community’s anticipation has remained, just new people replace the old who have lost faith.

Tasos and his words are responsible for all this, he really is a master in “public relations Management”, and “Community Management/Building” just as he says in his CV.

In my opinion Darkfall’s community has been demonstrated time after time to be based on pretty much nothing else except Tasos’s words, and talk is cheap, and Tasos’s has talked for years so I don’t see any reason why he cant just continue to do so.

I personally think they lose half their following each year, that’s why they stopped forum members showing their join date on the official forums, a damning indication of the high turn over rate this games community base experience’s.
