In most battles you have Red vs. Blue, Dark Vs. Light.
No one has a side anymore because no one knows what to believe with the game. You have people that hate Darkfall, flaming other people that hate darkfall. People that are looking forward to the game, are yelling and name calling people who want the game too.
Honestly though this board is out of control.
Information comes out that provides only a bit of proof, but nothing to 100% assure anyone that the game will come out, or is not coming out. I think the MMORPG staff should realize this board is breeding a community you dont want. The Board needs to come down true as that, until a real game is presented or the company closes shop.

And if anyone knows my posts about Darkfall, you know i neither support it, nor deny its exsistence.

I believe that most of us here have good intentions of helping out the rest of the community. To try to warn others about wasting their money on something that is still very vague when its about to release. We have a few mmo experience that bites us, so would wana warn the other when we see "the sign".
But ultimately i think no one can stop these kind of arguments, you may see it as bad ( though sometimes it really is), but i see it as info being pass along with both side. Both side gives their reasons about the game, and i think its actually good. Its just down to human nature for me, just like a debate, no hard feelings at the end of the day. Heck! Ive even seen many apologize at the end of the day....
So i said let it be, only ban those that is really names calling etc....

I suppose, one way to look at it, is that the community is already here. Should the DF board not exist, you would lose any sense of "quarantine" and these threads would need to be moderated in General Discussion. So, not arguing whether the game exists or not, having Darkfall partitioned off to it's own area may actually serve the interests of the greater MMO community on this site. |

This is the way the Darkfall ends Not with a beta but a whimper. |
Well I support the concept and I support anyone who's trying to develop a game based on that concept, as I have done in the past for Darkfall and its developers. What I don’t support are people that lie or omit to tell the truth about the real progress a project it making or the true capability’s of the company they represent, in an attempt to manipulate the community, or to attract investors and publishers. I personally feel I have conclusively shown recently as many other people have that there are so many legitimate questions that remain unanswered at this stage that the responsibility is on the developers to answer them. If they ignore them or refuse to answer them, then by there own admission they are implicitly accepting that those allegations are well grounded, or they are completely incompetent. Aventurine and Darkfall’s legitimacy and reputation are on the line, they have less then 6 months left, they have created huge expectation’s, they only have themselves to blame if they have not been truthful with us. |

I have told the MMORPG.com staff that the DF forum needs a "DF hater section". A forum where all anti fans can talk, look for proof, discuss non reletive things and so on. This way the original section would be for people actually "DF waters" , The SWG forum have a veteran section for everyone hating SWG.
Ohh, it would be a very bad thing if the DF haters should begin to decide on a DF forum. Otherwise it would be easy to just remove this section from MMORPG.com, but thern we all would be facists bastards. And we dont want that. |

Daarco that is an excellent suggestion, and I have thought of it myself a few times when reading the SWG forum, it’s the obvious solution. But I’m not sure about the names, I think they need more work. |

Can't agree with either the suggestion to keep separate forums or pull the DF forums down completely. These forums exist for the "big kids" amusement, if you can't handle them stop reading them. Plenty of other places for people who want to sing the praises of DF to go to, the official forums come to mind immediately. These forums exist to debate, troll, flame and endless thrash the game of Darkfall, and I am here because I enjoy it the way it is. Don't change a thing just to cater to the forum "carebears" than can't handle themselves in a decent fight.

I got it. "The DF Atheist section!" This way they can say we follows DF blindly without reason. And at same time thay can discuss "proof" and morale. When i think about..its perfect : ) Its even political correct. |

haha, this brings up an excellent point. People are looking forward to a game where they can do pretty much anything. However, when it comes to discussion, we should have seperate factions. If you want to engage in (verbal) combat with the other faction, you must enter their forum which automaticly flags you for (verbal) pvp. If someone enters your faction's area and attempts to engage in PvP, you could then flag yourself and reply, or complain to a GM (moderator) to have the bad person removed from your zone. It's a silly analogy I know, but if everyone is looking for a game that promises such freedom, isn't it a bit contradictory to try to seperate out views you don't agree with?
edit: also, perhaps more appropriately, Kyleran has a point. Doesn't the community already have an official site where they can sing the praises of DF? If so, why should MMORPG have a seperate, redundant area? |

I agree. These forums are so utterly amusing that they simply cannot be taken down, ever. The investigative journalism, the rampant speculation, the endless trolling, the scintillating flaming - it is all so damn funny and entertaining. In some ways, it is the MMORPG geek's version of the Jerry Springer Show, or something like that. The sad thing is, these forums are likely going to be more fun than the game they are devoted to ever will be, even if it is released. |
